Vibrating Mascara and Glossy Lips…Oh MY! Giveaway!!!

I am forever buying different brands of make-up promising one thing or another and I’ve always been disappointed.  For instance, this summer I bought a new mascara that said it would lift and separate my lashes like never before.  They got the “never” part right.  Not only did it NOT lift my lashes, but they were so badly clumped that I had to wash my face and start over.  I don’t know about you, but I don’t have time to be washing my face over and over so I can get my make-up (when I have time to actually put make-up on) right.

When I was asked to try the new Sonic Boost Mascara by Avon, I jumped at the chance.  Yes part of me was a tad skeptical.  I mean listen to the description:

“Creates makeup artist ready lashes right at home.  Lashes look separated, defined and volumized.  With up to 6x lashes, eyes look instantly open and awake”

So you can see why I was skeptical.  The last mascara promised similar things and I was left with clumpy eyes that had to be rewashed just so I could get out of the house.  But I said yes.  Avon has never disappointed me before.

When the package arrived, I couldn’t wait to try out the mascara.  Imagine my surprise when I saw that I  had to turn on the mascara!  It actually vibrated!  Now I was really skeptical!  But of course, my curiosity won out and I ran right upstairs to try it out.  Yes it tickled my right eyelid like mad (didn’t bother my left for some reason), but right away I could see that this mascara was delivering EXACTLY what they promised!  I don’t think I could end up with clumps, even if I wanted to.  The vibrating allowed each individual eyelash to separate…and my eyes really did look open and awake!!

The other product I tried out is the Pro Color and Gloss Lip Duo.  Like with my mascara, I am always looking for a lip color that I like.  I don’t care for lipstick too much and I don’t like lip gloss that is sticky feeling.  Not to mention, I always feel like I’m 10 when I put on lip gloss because the colors look childish.

I put the Pro Color and Gloss Lip Duo on before picking my son up from school.  The first thing I noticed was the fact that it was not sticky.  Sure I knew I had something on my lips, but it was very smooth and I could talk without feeling like my lips were sticking together.  The next thing I noticed was the color.  It was rich, but not overpowering.  Exactly what I like in a lip color.
