I have a wedding in August and in our family, weddings are a pretty formal affair. Meaning, I have to go out and buy a pretty long dress, sparkly shoes, and Spanx…can’t get all dressed up without the Spanx! I already have a gorgeous dress and shoes…but what I need more than anything is pretty jewelry. I don’t wear a lot of jewelry…not because I don’t like it…believe me, I like it. I choose not to wear it because I rarely get dressed up. I know that’s silly. Why do I need to be dressed up and going somewhere in order to wear jewelry? I don’t!

So someone needs to tell my husband to hop on it and buy me some nice jewelry! Our 10 year anniversary is next year and while I am planning a trip to Vegas, a nice ring, bracelet, earrings, necklace, etc would be an awesome surprise (hint, hint)! If you are reading this and you know my husband, direct him to the site, since1910.com. You can’t go wrong with that site! But…if he is like most men and needs a suggestion, then point him to the rings section. I really like the 3 stone rings…preferably diamonds…but if he’s feeling sentimental, then a ring with each of the kids birthstones and our birthstone (we were both born in February) would be nice.
Everyone has a favorite piece of jewelry. For some, it’s a necklace that’s been passed down in the family. For others it’s the unique piece they picked up at a flea market. For me, my favorite piece of jewelry is my wedding rings. When my husband asked me to marry him, he had bought me the PERFECT engagement ring. It was simple. Exactly what I wanted. However, when we went to pick out our wedding bands, before walking into the jewelry place, my husband told me that if I saw a two piece set that I liked, then we could trade in my current engagement ring and pick up the set. I insisted that I would not find one that I liked better than what he had chosen for me. Boy was I wrong! I did indeed, pick out a two piece set. The jeweler took my original engagement ring and put a cubic zirconia in it so I could still keep the original one! One of these days I want to make it into a charm for a charm bracelet (do people still wear those???).
What about you? What’s your favorite piece of jewelry?
