*I received the products pictured below for the purpose of this post. All opinions and stories are mine*

The one thing I am forever harping on my kids about is to eat breakfast before school. Now that my son is in middle school and has to be on the bus stop at 7:25 am, eating breakfast is something he doesn’t do very often. Drives me crazy. Quaker® believes, like I do, that everyone should begin each morning fully prepared for all that lies ahead. We need to work on this with that child!

Did you know that today is National Oatmeal Day? As part of their new campaign, “Off You Go“, Quaker® is giving away one million bowls of oatmeal! To kick off the one million bowl giveaway, Quaker® decided to thank those that help families get off to a great start with appreciation breakfasts served to select teachers and day care providers across Chicago and New York! I think that’s great! Teachers and day care providers need to see how appreciated they are! If I could, I would throw appreciation breakfasts and/or lunches weekly for my kids teachers!

My daughter absolutely loves oatmeal. It’s her breakfast meal of choice (unless we are at Coney Island…then she gets a chili dog…yes…for breakfast)! More mornings than not, Bella eats oatmeal before school. It makes me feel good that at least one of my kids is going off to school with a great start!

To learn more about the Quaker® Off You Go campaign, visit www.QuakerOffYouGo.com, follow @Quaker on Twitter or Like Quaker on Facebook! Keep scrolling down to see how 1o lucky readers can win the amazing prize pack below! I love the Instant Photo Camera!! <–You will too!!!

I read somewhere a few months ago that drinking a 24 oz glass of water every morning right when you get up and one hour before you eat will make you healthier, so I have been doing that for three months. I think it does do something because I seem to have more energy now and my fingernails grow so fast that I have to cut them twice a week.

I start with really good coffee. It’s my life-blood and gets me ready for a crazy commute. Then we always do breakfast, no matter how busy. On the weekends I love to start the day with yoga or a walk, depending on the weather outside! I also try to start off each day with a whole lot of gratitude.

I try to plan ahead for each morning. We set out oatmeal for a quicker prep time, or prepare a mix of fruit the night before.

We have a pretty simple routine down that helps us get through the mornings. And with three kids ages 8 and under, it can be hard finding breakfast options they all agree on. Oatmeal is actually one they all like.
