As a parent, we always want what is best for our children. And while we may seem like a superhero to our kids, we don’t always have all the answers. One of the biggest things we can teach our children is to be optimistic. We all know what the word means, but sometimes it may not be all that easy to show them.
The Goldfish brand teamed up with Dr. Karen Reivich to design a program to help teach both parents and teachers about the importance that optimism has on child development.
The Fishful Thinking program provides the tools parents need to teach their kids how to think optimistically about themselves and how to use their Optimism to overcome life’s obstacles, persist in the face of adversity, and transform setbacks into manageable challenges. By teaching kids Optimism today, we are equipping them with the skills and strategies they can rely on to shine in the face of adversity for the rest of their lives.
The website is a wealth of knowledge. My favorite section is the Activities for Parents and Kids. The activities are explained thoroughly and are very easy to follow. The other section that is VERY important to me is Keeping Kids Active. As the mother of two very busy children, keeping them active is very very important!
How would you like to hear Dr. Karen Reivich speak? If you are in the White Plains, NY area you have the opportunity to attend a FREE (yes free!) “Parenting for Possibilities” workshop that will help teach parents to raise happy, resilient children.
Date: March 7, 2009 Location: Crowne Plaza White Plains, NY Space is limited so be sure to RSVP today!!

I don’t get paid for a single thing on my blog. My blog is purely for the fun of it and the friendships I have made along the way. I used to have the google adsense on here but took it off. I think there is something like 3.00 that I “earned” by having people visit the blog. I figure, until I get more people coming here a day…maybe then I will add it back.
