Most people freak out as they approach 30. Me? I can’t wait to turn 30! I’ve already told my husband that I want to have a kicking Hawaiian theme party. So I have the next two years to plan this party. I never understood why people freaked out on their birthday. But I guess I’ve always looked at it differently.
When I was 11 I couldn’t wait to be 12…I was getting my braces off;
When I was 14, I couldn’t wait to be 15…I was getting my learners permit;
When I was 15, I couldn’t wait to be 16…I was getting my drivers license;
When I was 16, I couldn’t wait to be 17…I didn’t have to have fluoride at the dentist anymore;
I could go on and on and on. I just always looked at it like, with each year older you get, things just get better and better. This year I am 28 and while, off the top of my head, I can’t think of something other than the fact that I can’t wait to be 30 to have the Hawaiian party, I’m still very happy that I am 28 instead of 27.
Would I wish to be 21 again? God no. Well…my body at 21 was a lot nicer than it is now, but I didn’t have any kids yet and if totally trashing my body to have the two crazy kids that I have is what I had to do, then so be it.
Everyone spoiled me rotten this year. My wonderful husband got me a brand new cell phone…a Blackberry to be exact. I couldn’t be happier. I love this darn phone! So cool to be able to get your email anywhere!

Happy Birthday! I’ll be 30 at the end of this year and my DH teases me all the time. I’m ok with it. He was traumatized, but he also did a lot of the “growing up” stuff that year. We got married, bought a house, bought a new car, and had a baby the year he turned 30. Besides no matter how old I am, he’s always older LOL.

I’m with you about celebrating it. this year is my 30th and I told my friends and family last year to start planning a big party. I could cry about it or have a little fun. kind of a duh decision.

I got the Pearl. I was going to get the curve, but after messing with both at the store, I did not like the full keyboard as much as the Pearls keyboard.
