I’m on STRIKE!

Yep you read that right. I’m on strike. Not on strike with my kids. They are too young to fend for themselves, but my husband…I’m on strike with him right now. No more cleaning up after him; no more making sure he has everything he needs for his day; no more doing all the laundry, making sure it’s folded, only to have it all wadded in a ball in a basket rather than in the closet where it belongs. No more.

Just because someone chooses to stay at home does NOT mean they are slaves. Does not mean that other able bodied human beings in the house do not pitch in. Now don’t get me wrong, my husband does a lot, but the little things that make things SOOOOO much harder on me have finally pushed me over the edge so from this moment on, I am on strike.

Anyone else deal with this? The thing that pushed me over the edge today was the fact that the dog chewed on his crocs. Now how did the dog get his crocs out of the closet to chew on them? Oh right, they WEREN’T in the closet, but did you know that was my fault? My fault that they were not in the closet; my fault that I did not pick them up and put them away; you know cause his shoes being put away are a top priority…right. Had it just been “aw shit the dog chewed on my crocs” rather than “you know you could have picked these up for me”, then I would not be on strike right now.

So as the song says “R-E-S-P-E-C-T find out what it means to me”.

Boy I hear you! It’s easier to blame someone else. I’ve been on strike before, including my kids. It’s very effective.

You want me to send my husband to train him? My husband is constantly preaching to our 7yo that I am NOT their slave despite what our son thinks. In fact my son is again scrubbing the main bathroom since he’s the only male who pees in there and let’s just say his aim is a little off. I’ve had to explain more than once it’s not me because I sit and it’s kinda hard to miss when your butt is planted on the toilet, and his dad uses the other bathroom.

I can relate! My hubby does less and less around the house the longer I stay home.

Good luck with the strike! Hope it helps him realize all that you (normally) do for him!

I am with you on this one. Lord knows everything is MY fault in this house. According to my dh he does everything and I do nothing. Seriously, if I actually did nothing around here dh would get the shock of his life.

This made me laugh. Today hubby asked me to make him toast. “Really? You can’t do that on your own hun?” Men are hopeless sometimes.
