Jon & Kate Plus 8…Season Premier

OK first of all, in the past I have been a supporter of Kate. Saying that if it were me and I had 8 kids…I would be crabby and snapping at everyone too. However, this episode was just plain rotten. Here is Jon, at the beginning, more or less saying that he knows the truth and it doesn’t matter to him if people believe him. He has to live with himself so if he is lying and can live with that, then so be it…but something tells me he is not lying. I don’t know.

BUT to have Kate sit there and say all that she said at the beginning about Jon was rotten. If their goal is to handle this the right way and for the children, then dammit she should be supporting Jon and not talking bad about him on national television for Pete sake. But to handle this the right way…you handle it in the privacy of your home or therapists office and not on national television where you KNOW people are watching to criticize you.

She appeared to be extremely irritated having to do the “mom” thing. I could have played one heck of a drinking game (and gotten pretty darn drunk) if I did a shot every time I heard Kate say that she was “doing it alone”. You are not alone when you have “helpers. They may not be on TV (since she would have to share her gravy train with them), but that does not mean she is doing it alone. I keep seeing the Cars movie scene where Steve McQueen is saying how he is a one man show and all his crew up and leave him. Better watch out Kate!

With all that said, I do like how they ended it with the BBQ with the kids and talking about no matter what the future holds, they have to show a positive relationship for the kids. That seems like it was the smartest thing said on the entire episode. I do feel bad for them. I don’t think they, at least Jon, set out to do the show to exploit their kids. I don’t think that they set out to do the show to change their relationship with each other, but it happened and for the sake of the kids, I hope they are able to come together as a couple and make things work. Unless they were severely pretending and therefore, should look into acting, Jon and Kate looked extremely happy when they were renewing their vows. Hopefully they can get back to that moment and let everything else go.

I feel bad about the whole thing…it was hard to watch them…and how their relationship is in the toilet…they would hardly look at each other at the bbq..it was just ugh….I never want to be in that position…

Well said. I am glad I am not the only one who noticed how Kate was being when Jon was saying his I’m sorries. I too once supported Kate, but not anymore. Not since last season and the end of the season before.

I also agree how annoyed she looked at having to be a Mom. I am so glad I am not the only one who saw those things.

I blogged about it too, but I wrote a lot more. LOL. If you want to read my thoughts, it’s my latest blog entry at Ordinary and Awesome.
