TJ Maxx and Marshall’s "Spenderventon" REVIEW

How many of you like to shop? I’m betting a good majority of you do. How many of you would like to have name brand things but pay much much less? Again, I am betting the majority of you would say yes to that as well. When I was given the opportunity to take part in TJ Maxx and Marshall’s “Spendervention” project, I said “heck yea…sign me up”!

So what exactly is a “Spendervention”? Well it is probably one of the best interventions a person can be a part of. A “Spendervention” is quite simple. Shop at TJ Maxx and/or Marshall’s and get name brand items for much less. Sometimes more than half the price!!

I LOVE both TJ Maxx and Marshall’s. They can be rather overwhelming to some people though. A lot of times, and especially in TJ Maxx, you have to dig around for what you want. There are a ton of items on the shelves in each department and if you like something, you better buy it. It may not be there tomorrow and they may not get another like it in.

I prefer Marshall’s over TJ Maxx only because of Marshall’s shoe department. I think Marshall’s has much more to choose from, at least in my area, and they sell my favorite brand of shoes, Keens for much much less. My local TJ Maxx also offeres a Layaway program. Quite a few people were using it too.

So what did I get? Well, from Marshall’s I got:

  • A pink summer shirt that I plan on wearing to my sons 5th birthday party this weekend (Happy birthday Zack!)
  • The Sex in the City movie for only $2.99!

I still have about 10 dollars left on the gift card. I’m thinking I will look for a pair of sandles in their clearance section (which is to die for, by the way…anything marked clearance is dirt cheap).

From TJ Maxx I got:

  • Chi Iron Guard spray…$10 cheaper than what it costs at the salon.
  • An adorable pink and brown polka dot jacket for my daughter.

Again, I still have money left over at TJ Maxx as well. My gift cards were for $25 for EACH store. I got a couple items at each store and still have enough to go back for a second shopping trip! How cool is that???

With the type of economy we are living in right now, it’s nice to know that there are stores out there that provide the products that we would love to have, at a fraction of the cost. And it really is a one stop shop. You can get adult clothes there, children’s clothes, furniture, bathroom items, kitchen items, etc.

So if you have a TJ Maxx and/or a Marshall’s near you, definitely check them out. Don’t let the appearance of the store scare you away. Yes there is a lot of items in there, but I guarantee you can find what you are looking for and the savings in cost will be well worth the time it takes to find the item!

Happy Shopping!!
