All I can say is wow. Below you will see a video of Kate Gosselin and her children. For once, I am speechless. What do you think?

hmm….I don't know what to think about the video. There at the end she looks as if she was going to give the water to her but they told her she was going on the air.

My thing is, her daughter told her she was thirsty…if my kid told me they were thirsty, it wouldn't matter how thirsty I was, I would either try and get them some water or explain that I can't just yet but will in a minute. I would never ask for a bottle of water, take a sip of it, and then set it down, completely ignoring the child who asked for it.

I bet she realized that tapes were probably rolling and how bad that had to have looked so then she made a half effort at giving some to Mady.

I really don't think she was truly denying her daughter water on purpose to be spiteful. She probably realizes that is you give one a drink, all of them will need one. It's just like potty breaks, when one has to go they all have to.

I'm not sure what to think either. But I can't imagine a mom truly denying her child water without having logical reason behind it. I'm thinking that she was running short on time and knew that if she gave Mady a drink then all other 7 children would want a drink also.

I don't know. Just being devils advocate I guess.

Uggg…she drives me CRAZY!!! How could she sit there and take a drink right in front of her daughter who has said 5 times that she was soooo thirsty!? Give me a water bottle…I'll throw one at her! Right at her head!!!!

I just watched it again and I don't think Mady was being a drama queen about it. Maybe she shouldn't have told her mother that she was mean, but she was right. Yes there are times that kids need to understand that they can't have what they want…shoot they need to understand that all the time, but Kate didn't even realize she was thirsty until Mady said "I'm getting dehydrated" and Kate responded with something like "ya me too". So she fully acknowledges her daughters thirst issues and agrees with her that she too is thirsty, satisfies her thirst in front of her daughter and just expects her daughter to be OK with that? She's like what…eight? As a parent, Kate is supposed to make sure her childrens basic needs are met. Obviously they were not if her daughter is asking for water and then almost cries when her mother drinks in front of her and then denies her…yes I fully admit that it probably would have made a huge ordeal had she given one kid and not the others so at that time you just push your own needs aside and display for your children that sometimes we just have to wait for things. Kate should have waited.

Ugh I can't believe I ever defended that woman. The more and more I watch the show, the more and more I can't stand her and the more and more I feel sorry for the life those kids are living. It is NOT normal.

Ditto to Amber. Boy would I hate a camera following me around.

If she gave one a bottle of water she would have to give them all a bottle of water and it seemed they didn't have time for that.

I feel very very bad for her for being judged by people who aren't in her shoes.

And where is JON…she had NO HELP!

Oh she had help…we just can't see the help. She has said on her show that they have helpers. The helpers (nannies) aren't on the show because then TLC would have to pay the helpers for being on air.

I am not a huge fan, but if you've seen previous shows – a couple of years back – Mady is ALWAYS a whiny, drama queen. The kids are fine…they can wait a bit. A mom cannot jump every single second a kid wants something. There is caring for them when they honestly need something. I don't think this video is anything special – good or bad. It's just one of those things.

Mady is the BRAT of them.

I don't blame Kate for not wanting to share her water. Can you imagine the BACKWASH from EIGHT children?

You can't just share with one….

    Gross.

I think it is indicitive of how her head has swolen and how she is MUCH more in tune with her career than her children.

The backwash is not the issue. The issue is, to me, is that she should have waited just like her children. Yes she is the adult, yes she doesn't have to give them whatever they want, when they want, but she also didn't need that water right then and there. It never occured to her how "thirsty" she was until Mady started complaining.

Brat or not, I feel bad for Mady. I think that child is very uncomfortable and does not like being on the camera as much, but does that matter to Kate? Of course not. Her state of her marriage is proof of that. Now in no way am I condoning Jon for cheating (if he did cheat), but for petes sake, she has said that Jon isn't happy with doing the show anymore and yet, they still do it.

Looks like she was going to give it to her but put it out of her reach by accident. Not mean. Just rushed.

Can't believe I would ever agree with Leah, but I AGREE, and I am not even a mother. She could have taken a sip and passed the bottle around. They aren’t babies…they would have each taken a drink. Who cares about backwash, they were going on stage, do you guys really think she was coming back for the water? The rest of the bottle probably got thrown away.

Kate is a bitch plain and simple…

I have 5 kids, and I will not judge this woman's intentions.
If You give them a drink, then they all need a drink, then all will need a bathroom break. That's just how it works with kids!!
I have one child especially that will push everyone's buttons, and we've all (good or bad) learned to tune her out, or she'll pull the whole ship down, and we will get nothing done.
Once again, I'm not defending this mother, but she's under stress, and we all do things we would have done differently when we are not stressed, or photographed, or judged.
What goes on in public is not what goes on in private in many arenas of life. I hold and snuggle my children in private, but do not do that in public, and expect them to sit up, be polite, and say "please" and "thank you" appropriatly and without an attitude. That is what a good parent will do, and something that might look bad on film, and it may not be the whole story.
Give any mother the benefit of the doubt, unless there is obvious abuse, the kids look too thin, have health issues that are not addressed, etc. There is more to parenting than just providing water when a child says they are thirsty….if the child was provided a drink a few minutes before the cameras started rolling, and refused it, then the mother would be wise to make her wait until the next water/snack/bathroom break! Having 5 kids seemed like a lot, and I can't even imagine the laundry with 8 kids!! It does get easier until they hit the teen years, and then it seems more difficult than when they were babies. Then you get to send them to college, and they prove one way or another if they learned what they were taught!! Good luck!!
