Thanks to Team Mom, I was given the opportunity to review an excellent product for children ages 2 to 5. Which worked out perfect for me since I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old! The product I was sent is the Sesame Street Neighborhood Collection Kid K’Nex. More specifically, we received 123 Brownstone Building Set.
My daughter, who is 3 years old, had a lot of fun playing with this. It wasn’t too difficult for her. She did want me to sit right there to make sure she was making it look like the box. As for my son, the 5 year old, he was not too interested in it. But I didn’t really expect him to like it as much. He’s 5 and has never really been a huge Sesame Street fan. Not sure why…I loved Sesame Street when I was his age. Anyway, back to the review!
One of the things I liked the most about this product is the ease in which the pieces go together. That made it easy for my daughter to put it together. Another thing I liked was how bright and vivid the colors are. And finally, one other thing I really liked was that this came with a “Play & Learn” activity sheet that has educational, as well as fun activities for kids and parents to do together!
Now on to the nitty gritty information:
The Sesame Street Neighborhood sets can be played with separately or together to build the entire neighborhood. The different sets are:
- Ice Cream Truck Building Set
- Police Car Building Set
- 1-2-3 Brownstone Building Set
- Police Station Building Set
There are many developmental benefits of the Sesame Street Building Sets. They are:
- Physical Development: Building supports the development of hand-eye coordination
- Social/Emotional Development: Encourages imaginative play
- Language Development: Talking about what they built and created can enhance your child’s language skills
- Cognitive Skills: Sorting and making patterns with the building parts encourages thinking and problem solving skills
So with the Christmas season right around the corner, and if you are looking for a gift for someone in the 2 to 5 age range, remember Kid K’Nex!!
