I cannot believe my 10 year wedding anniversary is coming up next year (a year from this May to be exact…in case you wanted to send a gift!)!  I am looking forward to it.  My husband and I are planning…well I take that back…I AM PLANNING a kick butt anniversary trip for just us.  No kids.  Just us.  I want to go to Vegas and do everything Vegasy (yes I just made up that word).  I even have a purple scrapbook coverset ready and waiting for all the awesome pictures!

You know what’s sad though?  All the people out there having marriage problems.  Some people I know have only been married a year or two and they’ve already ended up in marriage counseling.  I’m not judging, but it makes me wonder if there were any talks before they got married to see if they were on the same page about key things like money, kids, etc.

Sure my husband and I have our fair share of issues.  But probably the sheer fact that we argue things out rather than hold it in is why we have such a strong relationship.  To some, it may sound like we are always nit picking each other…but believe me, we very rarely (if ever) go to bed angry.  We will stay up until 1:00, 2:00 or 3:00 am to completely talk things out until they are settled.  I think that’s key.  We also tell each other what we think of the other…not in a nasty way, but if something I am doing is totally bugging my husband, he will tell me and vice versa.

What do you think?  How do you handle issues in your house with your spouse?  Do you fight it out, bottle it up, or threaten to run for the hills?

We don't really fight here either but we've always talked about anything and everything so I think that helps.

It's amazing how fast the time goes! We fight about very little – when we do, it's usually about extended family, but it quickly blows over in any case.

Hubby and I have been married for 12 years, and I'd say that the first 6 years of our marriage, I'd go to bed angry even when Hubby wanted to talk things out.
Now that we've been thru alot of crazy things, and I've grown up alot, we try to talk things out even before the argument starts, which is a good thing for ALL of us!
