Now I will admit, I was just as shocked as everyone else when she got voted off the show two weeks ago. But while I was shocked, I knew she would be fine. Someone would pick her up in a heartbeat to record an album. Which literally happened the very next day for her. Interscope Records signed with Pia Toscano, which if you recall…Interscope Records is headed up by Idol mentor, Jimmy Lovine.

However, this past weeks episode of American Idol was a tad…interesting (if that’s what you want to call it). Pia Toscano was in the audience, which I thought was really nice…while one would say she was only there to get more face time with the camera, I will choose to believe she was there supporting her friends that are still fighting for votes every week. I didn’t realize that the person she was with was her newly hired bodyguard (according to other articles).
Can we say Diva much? Kind of reminds me of Kate Gosselin and her apparent need for a bodyguard to complete every day tasks like shopping at Target alone. I agree that a bodyguard may be a good thing when it comes to outings with the kids, but shopping alone at Target? So not needed. But hey, if she’s willing to pay…Steve Neild would be a fool not to accept.
Now I will say, Pia Toscano is gorgeous, a wonderful singer, and will probably make lots and lots of money, but I’m thinking it’s a bit premature in the whole bodyguard department.
So what do you think? Has Pia Toscano turned into an instant Diva overnight or is a bodyguard warranted at this stage in the game?
