Here are a few breakfast stats I bet you didn’t know:

  • Nearly 60% of U.S. parents of children ages 3-17 admit that their child skips breakfast, with more than half of U.S. Moms wishing their child ate a more nutritious breakfast.
  • 58% of U.S. Moms say they skip breakfast regularly. 46% of Moms who skip breakfast say they do so because they do not have enough time to prepare or eat it.
  • 57% of single adults say the number one reason they skip breakfast is that they don’t have enough time to prepare it.
  • While 71% of U.S. adults agree that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, 67% of those admit to skipping breakfast.

*Results of 2011 Children’s Nutrition Survey, conducted by Harris Interactive for Seneca Farms

Now I will admit, I am one that used to always skip breakfast.  Usually my excuse was that I did not have enough time to make breakfast for myself when I am trying to get both kids dressed and out the door…however, since being diagnosed with diabetes I can no longer use that excuse.  Even if it’s just a yogurt, I’m still eating breakfast.  But what astonishes me about that survey is the fact that 60% of children between the ages of 3 and 17 are NOT eating breakfast.  Maybe not so much the high school ages, but 3 year olds??

Well that is all changing now with new Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit!  Not only can you make yourself a healthy breakfast faster than a cup of coffee, but each 6 ounce microwavable cup is all ready to eat after 45 seconds in the microwave.  The Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit has no trans fats or cholesterol, and is an excellent source of vitamin C.

I had the opportunity to try out the new Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit and let me tell you, they are not lacking in the flavor department!  I was sent two flavors – Apple Cinnamon and Vanilla Peach.  I don’t personally eat things with cinnamon (total long story as to why!), but I made this particular flavor for my daughter and she went crazy!  Her favorite thing to eat are the cinnamon apples that different restaurants have as sides.  She was jumping up and down after trying the Apple Cinnamon Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit because it tastes JUST like you are eating that yummy cinnamon apple dessert!  The Vanilla Peach is pretty good too.  In fact, my husband took the other Vanilla Peach and Apple Cinnamon to work as a pick me up during the day!

You can find the new Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit at a store near YOU!  How wold you to print a coupon to save some money on your purchase?  Visit the Seneca Snacks Facebook page to print your own coupon…click on the image below to take you there!

i appreciate the portability, but i wonder if they should be introducing a product with so much packaging material.
