I wish I could say that my family and I eat the right foods all the time so we can get all the nutrients we need from the food rather than take supplements, but that’s just not possible. We are way to busy and there are days where if I were to write down every single thing that went into our mouth, I know we would be missing a food group or two. While I know we need to eat a balanced diet, I am glad that there are things we can take to help with what we are not getting. One of the things we make sure to take are Cod Liver Oil capsules.
Now before you turn your nose up and say “how in the world do you take that” let me tell you that these Cod Liver Oil capsules have no taste (and you know it’s a good fish oil vitamin when you can’t taste it) and they have double the amount of the Omega 3’s EPA and DHA. With my diabetes and high cholesterol, it is imperative that I take a good vitamin with high amounts of Omega 3, vitamin A and vitamin D. There has been plenty of research to show that taking a vitamin high in those things will help lower triglycerides and help maintain better glucose levels. My big thing, when finding a fish oil vitamin for me, is that I don’t want to taste it and I don’t want to burp it up later (fishy burps = nasty).
My son also takes fish oil vitamins high in the Omega 3’s to help with his ADHD. Since being off Adderall, I’ve taken every natural approach I can. Now while taking the natural approach is not the exact same as him being on a controlled substance for the ADHD, I truly believe he is much better off.
As always, do your research to find out which supplements are best for you (and ask your doctor), but be sure to really check out the benefits of adding a Cod Liver Oil capsule to your daily routine. I’m thinking you will find, like I did, that the benefits that the Omega 3’s can bring are excellent!

Leah,
My wife and I make sure we’re giving our children well-balanced meals, so we’ve never had to worry about the amount of omega3’s the kids are getting. But, I’ve used it on and off and to save a bit of cost opted for the liquid form, and never had to worry about the taste. The capsules can get pricey if your you stick with it.
