I Want a Security System

I really want a security system. I want security lighting with cameras all around my house and I want an alarm system.  My husband thinks I’m crazy. Especially since he knows that I would spend hours watching the cameras to see what was going on outside. Don’t laugh. You know you would too!

Why I want a Security System

In all seriousness, I want all of this because right now there have been a lot of break-in’s in my area. Both with cars and houses. How scary is that? And some of them are happening during the day. I’m home with the kids during the day. I can’t imagine having that happen to us.  While some of the issues are happening during the day, the majority happen at night.  Every sound I hear I flinch and want to run to the window.  Especially since we went through a period last year where my husband’s car was broken into THREE times.

The Cost of Security Systems

Right now we can’t afford to outfit our entire house with security cameras and an alarm system, but one thing we can do is invest in some low cost security lighting.  Things like flood lights that turn on when something (or someone) crosses the path will help deter people from messing with my house and car.  And the nice thing is, we can get eco-friendly security lighting that is solar powered.  So not only are we protecting our house and car, but we are also choosing to use a product that uses very littler energy!

So if I can’t have my house with a moat around it, a security guard at the electrified gate, and cameras everywhere, then the solar powered security lights are definitely the next best thing!!

    Hi Leah,
Having a security system with cameras in place is more valuable than you think, particularly as your children get a little older, or when you are traveling outside of your home. Installing video cameras with adjustable motion detectors is not expensive, can lower your home owners insurance, and give you a piece of mind that is invaluable. It works for me.
