Dollywood in Pigeon Forge!

One of my absolute favorite places that I have been to in the last 10 years is Dollywood in Pigeon Forge. Not only is it a very family friendly place to walk around, but you can tell a lot of thought has been put into this park. I did go without my kids, but I would not mind planning a family vacation and going back again one day. Not to mention, staying in one of the lovely cabins would be a lot of fun again. There is so much to do in Pigeon Forge. There is definitely something for everyone there!

Dollywood Finds

Earlier I told you about part of my fantastic visit to Dollywood and how we got to ride the Wild Eagle while it was being filmed for a Discovery Channel show!!  While that was very neat and exciting, Dollywood offers so much more!  One of the first things we did when we through the front gates was stop at a little stand selling jewelry.  Normally I bypass stands like this because I really don’t care about jewelry all that much.  However, my wedding rings have been severely damaged so I’ve been without wedding rings for quite some time.  That has driven me CRAZY!  This jewelry stand had cute stainless steel rings that you can have engraved with whatever you want.  So this is what I got:

dollywood

I absolutely love it!  Sure it doesn’t have a diamond, but at least I’m wearing something on my left hand again!

Handling Food Allergies

Being a parent of a child with food allergies, it was extremely interesting to me that Dollywood accommodates people with various food allergies.  As soon as you walk into one of their restaurants and tell the server that you or someone you’re with has a food allergy, the Start Fresh program is put into place.  The guest is not seated until their table is completely sanitized and the Start Fresh box is opened up.  In this box there are unused cutting boards, utensils, towels, gloves, unopened salt and pepper shakers, etc.  The guests are also seated away from the kitchen and near a window to help minimize the different smells of food.  There is also a binder in the box that has the ingredients for EVERYTHING served at the park.  If ever there is a question, the manufacturer is contacted.  I was VERY impressed when I heard this.  So many times I have taken my daughter places and I am met with “oh well.  Sorry we can’t help you“.

Shopping Convenience

Like to shop AND go on the rides?  That’s OK!  Dollywood offers FREE package pick up at one convenient location…right by the exit!  Purchase something a one or more shops throughout Dollywood and have them deliver it to package pick-up, ready for you to pick up on your way out of the park.  Gone are the days where you purchase something, leave it on a little shelf while you ride a roller coaster, all the while wondering if it will be there when you get back.

Not one to ride the rides?  No problem!  Dollywood offers so many different types of shows.  One that I went to is the Dreamland Drive-in.  I LOVED it!  In fact, I liked it so much, I found myself singing along with the songs (and so did a few others in our group)!  Besides shows, Dollywood also offers a variety of festivals.  I hear the Christmas festival is phenomenal…I wish I could be there for it!

Ticket Information for Dollywood

Tickets for Dollywood are:

  • Regular (ages 12-59) -> $56
  • Child (ages 4-11) -> $44
  • Seniors (60+) -> $51

For just $30 more, you can have a season pass that will get you into the park an unlimited amount of times throughout the season!  If you live in the area, that seems like a no brainer to me!  Traveling with your dog?  That’s OK!  Dollywood has a kennel that you can leave your dog in while you enjoy the park!  Genius idea!!

All in all, my visit to Dollywood was VERY positive!  In fact, I am currently planning a trip back to the Pigeon Forge area this June coming up.  My kids would LOVE it there!

**Thank you to Marketplace Homes for sponsoring me for this years Brandcation:  Blog Cabin conference.  If you think you can’t move, think again and contact Marketplace Homes today!

    I bought rings at a little stand in Dollywood this past September, I need to get the men’s ring in a larger size. Any idea how I can get in touch with someone to do this for me? I love the rings and wanted to surprise my friend, but the surprise was on me when I got one size too small : ( Thanks for any help you can give!

      I’m sorry, I don’t 🙁

      Maybe go to the Dollywood website and see if there is a contact us button and send an email. They are super helpful there!
