My kids have been into pirates for a LONG time. I really don’t recall what got them interested in pirates. One year my mother in-law got my kids this massive pirate ship that they could stand behind and pretend they were really on a ship. She even got them pirate dress up costumes. They put those costumes on every single day! The ship even shot cannonballs. That part was not my favorite! Especially since they thought it was hilarious to shoot them at me!

About Jake and the Never Land Pirates

Jake and the Never Land Pirates is a show that they really enjoy.  One of the phrases said quite often in the show is also said around our house now…mostly by Bella.

“Yo Ho, let’s go!”

Sometimes she says it in “pirate speak” and other times she says it in her normal voice.  Regardless of how she says it, the phrase cracks me up!  More times than not I hear it on our way out of the house for school…

“Yo Ho, Let’s Go Zack!”

On October 16th, available on Disney DVD, Jake and the Never Land Pirates:  Jake Saves Bucky will be available!!  Here’s a synopsis of that DVD:

Yo Ho, let’s go!  Set sail with Jake and his crew on a full-length, high-speed adventure on the high seas.  According to the Never Land Pirate Code, Jake and his crew must race Bucky against the Jolly Roger and the sneaky Captain Hook.  But if Bucky loses, he’ll belong to Hook forever.  Of course, Hook uses every trick in the book and wins the race.  But, Jake and his crew might have a way to get Bucky back.  With the help of Peter Pan, and the young pirates embark on an adventure across Never Land that includes getting past a fire-breathing dragon.  With your help, Jake’s crew can save Bucky from the devious Captain Hook.  In addition, swashbuckling action and seafaring fun, Jake and the Never Land Pirates:  Jake Saves Bucky proves that being a hero comes from teamwork, determination and friendship!

DVD Bonus Features

One of the cutest bonus features on this DVD is Pirate-Oke.  It’s exactly what it sounds like…a karaoke-like feature that allows kids (and parents…don’t lie…you know you will be singing too!) to sing along to a collection of songs in the episodes!

Jake and the Never Land Pirates:  Jake Saves Bucky makes its debut on October 16th and retails for $19.99 (U.S.) and $24.99 (Canada).

**I received a copy of this DVD for the purpose of this honest review.  All opinions and stories are solely mine and are not influenced in any way.

My kids love Jake also. Do you know where the ship was purchased in the first pic?

My mother in-law bought it for my kids years ago. I think either Costco at Christmas time or Toys R Us.
