From the moment I found out that we would be seeing Lumberjack Feud dinner show while we were in Pigeon Forge, TN for Brandcation, I knew two things…
- I couldn’t wait to go!
- I needed a flannel shirt!
You see, I remember seeing a lumberjack show when I was a kid. I don’t know if it was a The State Fair we used to go to or where it was, but I distinctly remember seeing it. And I liked it! My favorite then was the log rolling. I could never figure out how they they were able to do that. Especially when they are kicking water at each other at the same time!

We headed out to the Lumberjack Feud Dinner Show after spending a long day at Dollywood. I really don’t think the people at Lumberjack Feud expected 33 women to show up all wearing flannel…but we did! Here are a few of us with the lumberjacks after the show:
The show starts out with the history of the Smokey Mountains and how it became a National Park. When it was named a national park, the loggers were asked to leave. And now the competition begins! Like the Dixie Stampede show, the audience is broken into two teams. One side is the McGraw family and the other side is the Dawson family. Each side is introduced to their family of lumberjacks and those two families begin competing for the one and only plot of land available.
They had ten different events to compete in like ax throwing, log rolling, tree climbing and more! In between the events, we saw the log pulling draft horses, high flying dogs and the hilariously funny comedic act of Camper Bob. I really don’t think I’ve laughed this hard in a long time! The nice thing about the humor during this show was that it was fine for children. Some might not have gotten it, but they laughed along with everyone else because we were all laughing so hard!

The food was pretty tasty, as well! We had chicken, BBQ ribs, beans, mac ‘n’ cheese, yeast rolls (soooo good!) and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Strawberry shortcake is one of my favorite desserts, so I was very excited to have it! Our meals came out in these little lunchbox type cases, where each food item had it’s own compartment…kind of like a Bento Box, only our food was normal, not in any lumberjack themed picture! <—though that would have been neat!
Here’s a clip from their show…what do you think…would you enjoy it?!?
