I Wish the Dentist Office Had Video Cameras!

Yesterday I went for the dreaded root canal appointment.  I was terrified.  I do NOT do well at the dentist.  I have a lot of dental issues and always need gas before I get a filling.  Thankfully I don’t need the gas before a cleaning anymore (yes…I said anymore).  My dentist knows I have this fear so for the root canal, he prescribed Valium for me to take the night before and one the day of.  Best night of sleep…EVER!  Dan was able to work his flight around my root canal so he could take me to the appointment (you can’t drive after taking Valium).

Shortly after sitting down in the dentist chair, they strapped the piggy nose thing on me and turned on the gas.  I was feeling good about ten seconds later!  So good that I took a picture of myself, texted it to my husband AND posted it on Facebook…

So Hot!

So Hot!

Notice how I have ear buds in my ears…that was so I could listen to my Pandora radio app.  I absolutely love the 90’s station.  I’m sitting their jamming out to Backstreet Boys when it dawns on me…it doesn’t sound like the music is coming through the ear buds.  Oh no…I forgot to plug the end of the headphones into the phone!  Normally I would have been so embarrassed.  But I was so hopped up on Valium and gas that I didn’t have a care in the world!

All in all, the whole thing went well.  I have a little tenderness, but apparently that is normal.  This morning I ran across this video and I laughed so hard, I had to share it with you all!

I was laughing so hard I was crying!  The funny thing is…that was me after I got my wisdom teeth out.  You see, my fear of the dentist is something I’ve had for a very long time.  I went to an oral surgeon to have my wisdom teeth out.  When I woke up from the procedure I was screaming at the top of my lungs:

“I can’t see.  I can’t see.  Oh my gosh, I can’t see”

The nurse, trying so hard not to laugh at me said “honey…open your eyes”.  Yep…that happened!  My parents had a good laugh in the waiting room over that one!  Too bad we didn’t have a video camera at that time!  I would have been a YouTube sensation before there was even YouTube!
