I’ve written many posts on my desire to eat better, lose weight and feed my family better.  We’ve dabbled, a bit, with the Paleo diet, which I need to get back to because I’ve literally never felt better.  However, I find myself going back to or old way of eating.  Except for Diet Coke.  I really think I’ve finally kicked that habit!

So why is so hard to eat well??  It’s simple…we are surrounded by fake food.  Food filled with preservatives, dyes…basically things we do NOT need to be putting in our diet.  Unfortunately, it’s all around us.  And, not to mention, people feel they are too busy to make “real food”.  But guess what…you’re NOT!

I recently came across the site, RealFoodFreaks.com and it is a site that is FULL of healthy, real food recipes!

About Real Food Freaks

Our mission is to provide the web’s biggest and best collection of real food recipes.  You can contribute by submitting your own recipes, following us on social media, or just by contacting us and letting us know how we can improve our site!

After browsing the site for an hour (literally!) and finding a lot of recipes I want to try, I’ve decided that the first one I’m going to make is the Pork Shoulder Crock Pot Recipe.  It is a Paleo recipe and it looks absolutely delicious (but I will be omitting the cinnamon…I can’t handle cinnamon). I also want to try the Gluten Free Meatloaf (Minis).  Shoot!  I’ve wanted to get back into menu planning…I think this site will not only help me do that, but I will be eating and feeding my family better!!

What about you…which recipe would you like to try??

Cooking at home is simply a habit. Meal planning and preparing food from scratch doesn’t actually take that long, but you have to commit to it and just give it time to become a habit. My problem is that I forget to plan and then we scramble to find a recipe for that day. If I take an hour on the weekend, I can usually plan an entire week’s meals.

And you are sooooo right about the fake food!
