I need to lose weight. But first I need to make myself go to the gym. That has been a problem lately. And I hate it. I hate that I put everything else first when my health is should be one of my first priorities (after my kids, of course).
I was recently asked to try out the Mistfit Shine, a wearable fitness tracker. Since I like things like this and have tried out others, I was anxious to get started.
About the Misfit Shine
The Shine is a gorgeous device that will empower people (like me…I need all the empowering I can get!) to be more proactive about their own personal health. The Shine that I was sent is exactly you see above…black rubber sport band with a silver face. However, the Shine is exclusively available in additional colors at Best Buy. Those colors are:
- Silver
- Black
- Champagne
- Topaz
Product Specs:
- Width 27.5 mm x depth 3.3 mm x height 27.5 mm
- Weight of 9.4g
- Runs on a coin cell battery
The Shine will track your activity and steps while you are swimming, biking, playing tennis, etc. You can also track your sleeping habits, calories and use it as a clock (this is pretty neat to me!). My Shine came with a magnetic clip so I can literally clip it anywhere I want…even on my bra! It also came with the rubber sport band. If you want dress up your Shine, you can purchase a leather band or a necklace.
Pros
- It’s slim design makes it fit under clothes very nicely.
- Attractive design…looks like a piece of jewelry
- Syncs with my iphone and the app is free
- Very comfortable
- Reasonably priced
- No charging needed
Cons
- There is no social aspect. I would like to be able to compete with my friends or other people that own the Shine
- Battery lasts 4 months
