My kids, especially my daughter, love stuffed animals.  We have so many in my daughters room that she could bury herself in her bed and I wouldn’t know she was there!

While stuffed animals are great, one of the things I really can’t stand is how dirty they get and then there is really nothing you can do about it.  Most of the tags say “spot clean only”.  Really?  Kids drag these things all over the house, in the car, out in public, and we are only expected to spot clean it?  Gross.  Or you decide to be a rebel and throw it in the washing machine and then it comes out ruined…your child’s prized stuffed animal that they can’t sleep without.

Guess what…I have a solution for you!!  The Bommerscheim Sisters Co. created their Bommerscheim Buddies, a cute and cuddly stuffed animal that has one major, mom approved secret…the cover comes off and it’s washable!  Do you know what this means???  Not only is your child’s stuffed animal getting clean, but you can also purchase a second cover (identical or not) so your child never has to be without their lovey!

Isn’t it sooo cute?!?  I opted to get a different cover so we can change it up a bit, but you can totally pick two of the same covers and your child would never know!

About the company

Founded by Paul Kluempers who was intent on sharing his family tradition with the world, Bommerscheim Sisters Company is the creator and manufacturer of lovable, nostalgic cuddle toys called Bommerscheim Buddies.  Grandmother Irene Bommerscheim, decided to teach her five daughters how to sew.  Since she was a skilled seamstress, it seemed like a natural fit.  Taking the knowledge they acquired, daughters Pat and Joan began creating hand-made stuffed animals for their children starting in the early 1960s and then their grandchildren in the 1980s.  Three generations and 50 years later, the plush toys are available in a wide variety of fabrics and patterns and feature –most importantly–removable covers that are easily washed.  All products are Made in the U.S.A.

Here are a few things I really like about the Bommerscheim Buddies:

  • They are sewn right here in the U.S. (Indiana)
  • The covers can be washed (it’s suggested to wash the cover in cold water and because of the nature of flannel, it is also suggested to wash/dry alone or with a few lightweight items).
  • They retail for $19.99

Look how easy it is to remove the cover:

I would get the monkeys on the teal background. I follow them on Pinterest, too. http://www.pinterest.com/alehnick/
