This winter has been one of the worst winters I can ever remember. And I’ve lived in the midwest my entire life. We’ve had -30 temperatures, a billion inches of snow, and it just keeps happening over and over again. Just my luck, it always snows the day AFTER my husband leaves town for work. So, as you can imagine, I am the one shoveling the billion inches of snow! If I don’t get frostbite first, I will have one heck of an upper body, come spring!

One of my goals for 2014, is to get healthy. There are a few things I’m doing to achieve that goal:

  • Eat healthy
  • Work out at least 4 days a week
  • Add a daily, Natural Probiotic supplement

I’ve done pretty good with eating healthy. In fact, since I work from home, one of the ways I am making sure I don’t snack all day long is by drinking a protein shake for breakfast and lunch. I use my Vita-mix to blend it up with skim milk, half a banana and some ice. I like it to have a “milk shake” quality.

The gym has been a little trickier to get to. Not only have my kids been out of school more times than they’re in school, but I have been fighting this horrible cough for the last five to six weeks. When I think it’s gone, it comes back, full force. Have you ever tried to run on the treadmill with a cough? Don’t! But…when I do get back to the gym, I am going to be sporting these amazing shoes:

I know they’re a bit loud, but I love them!

Natural Probiotic

One of the best things I’ve done to get healthy, was to add a daily probiotic supplement. For the last four days, I have been taking a new probiotic called insync. This doctor recommended, gradual release pill contains six natural probiotics including B. infantis. This is perfect for me, while I like yogurt, it’s not something I like to eat on a daily basis. Taking a pill is easy! And I like that I am doing something good for my body and my quest to get healthy.

The biggest thing I’ve noticed over the last four days is that I do not feel bloated at all. That tells me the insync probiotic is doing something good for my digestive system! You can find this product at your local CVS store. If you’d like more information about insyc natural probiotic, check them out on Twitter and Facebook.

Tell me…what are you doing to get healthy?

Wow that is a lot of snow. I am pole dancing and also taking aerial yoga and Fly Gym, I have a sweet tooth so I have to cut down on all the M&M’s, Raisinets and Twix bars. Staying healthy is important to me because it makes me feel good and makes me look my best.

I’ve been trying to drink more water lately to stay healthy, but it is so hard. I work in an office and I’m up and down to the bathroom all day long. I have lots of digestive issues so this probiotic would be a welcome addition to my daily routine. #client

Great post! You’re doing one hell of a job! I can’t bare to look at more snow and to think you had all the shoveling duty without your husband to help = yikes! I love your sneakers and your probiotic shake is a really good idea. Looks like you have a lot to be healthy for, so keep up the good work!

I am really not jealous of the cold you guys went through.. we were watching it on the news and on the internet and it seemed insanely cold. We actually had a far-too-warm winter over on this end of the world, and that was surprising as well.. Anyway, if I could say.. AWESOME shoes. Love them! Stay healthy guys xoxo
