Recently I was in Walmart and I saw the XL/Family size boxes of General Mills cereal with cute little Minion toys inside. Right across the front of the box it said “7 To Collect” with the 7th Minion, the Prehistoric Minion only found at Walmart. I was instantly brought back to my days in the cereal aisle with my mom and I am not joking, I had to fight the urge to not buy seven boxes of cereal to try and get that exclusive 7th Minion that can only be found at Walmart! Thankfully I wised up and realized I had no where to store seven boxes of cereal and only bought three! There is just something about that free toy at the bottom of the cereal box that you just have to have! When I got home, my kids went nuts when they saw the cereal and begged me to open every box! Neither of them had ever heard of Golden Grahams® cereal, but that was OK…I had plans to make the best s’mores brownies ever!
So like I mentioned, I had a really hard time not buying seven boxes of cereal. The cereals that you had a chance of finding #The7thMinion in are:
- Honey Nut Cheerios
- Cinnamon Toast Crunch
- Lucky Charms
- Reese’s Puffs
- Trix
- Cocoa Puffs
- Golden Grahams
I’m not going to lie…as soon as I got home, I ripped open all three boxes of cereal and was prepared to dig for the toys! I was happy to see that the toys were on the very top! Bella wants to hang them on our Christmas tree this year!
For our 4th of July BBQ, I had this great idea to use the Golden Grahams® cereal to make the ultimate S’mores Brownies! They turned out so good!
Golden Grahams® S’mores Brownies
Ingredients
- Brownie Mix, prepared according to the box directions
- 1 cup Mini-Marshmallows, divided
- 1/2 cup Milk Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 cup Golden Grahams® cereal
Directions
- Prepare the brownie mix according to the box directions. Be sure to mix in 1/2 cup of mini-marshmallows…set aside the other 1/2 cup for later.
- While the brownies are baking, mix the remaining 1/2 cup of mini-marshmallows, the 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips and the 1/2 cup of Golden Grahams® cereal in a bowl and set aside.
- As soon as the brownies are done, turn off the oven and turn on the broiler on low. Take your mini-marshmallows, chocolate chips and Golden Grahams® cereal mixture and pour it over top of the brownies, making sure to cover the top of the brownies.
- Place your rack about 6 inches or so from the top of the oven and place the brownies back in the oven to toast the top evenly. Takes about 2-3 minutes, at most.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely and then cut into squares. Make sure your knife is wet when you are cutting the brownies.
Look at all that deliciousness! I am drooling just looking at it! Be sure to store in an airtight container. The Golden Grahams® do get a little soft after a day or so, but they are still so good! Both kids definitely approved! In fact, I just caught one sneaking another brownie! These would be a great addition to any BBQ, camping weekend, etc!

Oh yum! I love S’mores, and this version looks absolutely delicious! We love both brownies and Golden Grahams, but I have never thought about using them to make S’mores before. I bet all that chocolate and marshmallow goes great together with the Golden Grahams! This one is definitely going in the recipe book!

Oh Leah these sound heavenly! My son would devour them! We’ve been on a cereal kick because my one year old is loving cheerios lately – I’ll need to make these for back to school. And your kiddos are too cute!
