Are you having an Oscars party this weekend for the 88th Academy Awards hosted by Chris Rock? We won’t be, but I’ve always wanted to throw a theme party like that. I have visions of fun, movie themed finger foods and cocktails. Oh and a photo booth with lots of fun movie themed photo propscocktails! The possibilities are truly endless with this type of party. You could have people come dressed all glamorous in red carpet worthy clothes…be sure to actually have a red carpet leading up to your front door! If you really wanted to have a little fun with it, talk to your local high school photography department and see if any of their students would like to pose as “paparazzi” for the party!

Thinking up the food for the party is the easy part, in my opinion. Have bowls (red) of caramel corn laying out for people to munch on, meatballs, boneless wings…basically anything that can be eaten in one bite! The cocktails…those are the fun things to plan, in my opinion! Personally I prefer frozen cocktails, but being a party, I don’t know that I want to be running the blender constantly to make frozen drinks. Although…I do have a Vitamixcocktails and that thing makes the best cocktails ever! So maybe I would make the frozen cocktails!

Cocktail glasses are always a fun purchase, in my opinion! I like to have a bunch of fun glasses, as opposed to 10 or 12 of the same glasses. So, knowing me, I would choose something like this:

cocktailscocktails
I mean…look at those glasses! The best cocktail drinks come in pretty glasses! Regardless, no matter what glasses you choose, the easy cocktail recipes above will definitely be a hit at your Oscars party!

What cocktails are your favorite?
