In the next six to eight months, we will be shopping for a new vehicle for me. As much as I’d love to pick out a fun little sports car, it’s not practical at all. I need a more family friendly vehicle. A vehicle that will fit our family of four and carry all of my kids various sports bags for soccer and lacrosse. If you are unfamiliar with lacrosse equipment…the bag is huge, so I need a trunk that can fit that massive bag! One car that fits all of our needs, and is very reasonably priced, is the Hyundai Tucson.
*I was given the opportunity to test drive the Hyundai Tucson for one week. Unfortunately, I had to give it back! My opinions are 100% my own*
Features of this Family Friendly Vehicle
Most importantly, the Hyundai Tucson is a smooth riding car with plenty of room in both the front and back seat. My kids (ages 9 and 12) are the first to complain if there isn’t enough room in the backseat. Sitting behind my 6’2″ husband sometimes doesn’t give them enough leg room. In the Hyundai Tucson, they had plenty of room. A few of the other standard features that I like about this family friendly vehicle are:
- Electronic Stability Control
- ABS brakes
- Active On-Demand AWD System w/AWD Lock
- Driver Blind Spot Mirror

Family Friendly Vehicle Warranty
In addition, one thing I found really great about this car is the warranty. Hyundai calls it “America’s Best Warranty”. I think it’s really important to look at the warranty of the vehicle you are purchasing. You want to make sure the company stands behind their cars. I think Hyundai’s warranty says that they do! The warranty is:
- 5 year/50,000 mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty
- 10 year/100,000 mile Powertrain Warranty
- 7 year/Unlimited mile Anti-Perforation Warranty
- 5 year/Unlimited mile Roadside Assistance
Consequently, there are a couple things that I wished were standard with this car, and I’ll admit, it drove me crazy all week that it wasn’t standard. One of those things was the fact that I had to use the key fob to unlock the car! First of all, I know it is really minor and borderline ridiculous that it bothered me, but I’m way to use to touching the door handle to open the car!
Secondly, the other thing that bugged me a bit was the light beige interior. Although, for me personally, I would always upgrade to leather…just easier to clean and take care of, but I’m not a fan of beige cloth interior at all because anything and everything can and will stain it. With all that said, the Hyundai Tucson is a pretty good family friendly vehicle and one you should check out the next time you are in the market for a new car!
