If there is one thing I look forward to each and every single day (besides a hot shower) it’s the time I set aside to read. I still remember the day my mom took me to the public library and I got my very own library card. Going to the library and checking out books was my absolute favorite thing to do. Even now, as an adult, I love just sitting in a library. I often wish I would have gone to school to be a librarian. Working at the library and helping people find what they are looking for sounds like the perfect job for me. It really does! While I still love going to the library, I do prefer to read on my Kindle Paperwhite. My husband bought me one for my birthday last year and I have used it every single day since! The best thing I ever did was get a membership to Kindle Unlimited! It really is the best gift ever!

About Amazon Kindle Unlimited
The program offers:
- Unlimited reading from over 1 million ebooks
- Unlimited listening to thousands of audiobooks
- Read on any device
For me, deciding to get a membership to Kindle Unlimited has really allowed me to branch out and read different genres and different authors. Right now I am starting my 68th book for the year. 68! I don’t know that I would have read that many if it weren’t for Kindle Unlimited or my Kindle Paperwhite.
You get all of this for just $9.99 per month!! Just fill up your Kindle Paperwhite and pop it in your purse. So while you are waiting in the pick up line at school, at your child’s sports practice…basically anywhere, you can be reading without having to worry about needing light or carrying a heavy book around. My favorite is to sit in my car during my daughters basketball practice and enjoy whatever I’m currently reading while also enjoying the heated seats!
Amazon Kindle for Kids Bundle
It wouldn’t be Amazon if they didn’t have an amazing Kindle bundle for kids! My son is in middle school and they have to carry a book with them every single day for silent reading during homeroom. Kids have to carry enough heavy stuff around as it is, so lighten the load a bit and Shop Amazon Devices – All-New Kindle for Kids Bundle. The kids bundle includes:
- The latest Kindle without sponsored screensavers
- Free cover (you choose the color)
- 2 year worry free guarantee (if they break it, Amazon replaces it for free…no questions asked!)
Unlike tablets, the Kindle for kids offers ZERO distractions. They just read! You can set reading goals and track their progress with Kindle FreeTime. Also, and this part is important, this Kindle does not come with a backlight. So bedtime is still bedtime. Note: Kindle Paperwhite has a backlight.
See…now you really want a Kindle Paperwhite and the awesome Kindle Unlimited membership, don’t you? Be sure to sign up for the FREE 30 day trial below to see if you like it as much as I do!

What a fantastic gift idea! I love reading too, and I was lucky enough to work in a library for over five years in my late teens and early twenties. I thought about becoming a librarian but I went on to other adventures. Still adore spending time in libraries though.

Love this gift idea. As for my best gift it would have to have been when I was given a cruise for graduation college. I love to travel.

That looks like a great reader. I’ve been a big fan of the Kindle for a long time. One of the big selling points for me is that it feels more like reading a physical book than just using a reader on my tablet.

Totally get it for him! I have found so many new authors that I wouldn’t have found had I not had Kindle Unlimited!

Three of my four kids loved the public library experience too. My youngest did, but only because he likes to access the computers. Yes, he likes his books but it’s the pc he wants to go to every time. I don’t like it.
