This post brought to you by Scotts Miracle-Gro. All opinions are 100% mine.

Fall gardening is something that people (especially me…I am like the anti-green thumb…I kill everything) don’t really think about.  But there are many things that you can do to really take advantage and Find beauty in the Fall.  Whether you live in the midwest, southwest, southeast or in the west, there is something for everyone’s garden!

No matter what part of the country you live in, Fall plant and feed is essential to aid in growing your plants. My personal favorite is the Miracle-Gro LiquaFeed.  Water and feed your plants at the same time…for someone that likes to save time, this is ideal!  Check out the Miracle-Gro Facebook page for more information!

Since I live in the midwest, planting mums is recommended for my area.  Being that it is fall and Thanksgiving is right around the corner, one of the things you can do is make “Mumkin’s” for your Thanksgiving centerpieces!

How to Make a Mumkin

You Will Need

  • Mums from your garden
  • Small pots
  • Potting soil
  • Equal number of medium sized pumpkins

Steps:

  1. Cut and remove the top of the pumpkin.
  2. Clean out the inside of the pumpkins (save the seeds and cook them!)
  3. Place potting soil in the pots and plant the mums.
  4. Set the potted mums inside the pumpkins.

And just like that, you have a beautiful centerpiece for your fall party or Thanksgiving dinner!

Fall is quickly approaching and I cannot WAIT to try out this project.  I’m hosting an early Thanksgiving at my house this year and I can tell you right now, a Mumkin will be sitting on my table!  What about yours?!?

This is such a cute idea! I think I will be making some for myself as well as for my mom and mother in law.
