The 80s are BACK!

In six days I will be traveling to Pigeon Forge, TN for Brandcation, hosted by Brandfluential!  We will be doing so many things while we are in Pigeon Forge, but one of the things I am looking forward to is our 80s party!  Everyone needs to come dressed in something from that time period.  Being me, I wanted to think outside the box and not wear the typical clothing (off the shoulder shirts, leg warmers, etc).  Instead I wanted to be Waldo from the ever popular, Where’s Waldo series!  Every time I think about dressing as Waldo, I laugh.  All I keep picturing is scrapbooking this party and seeing Waldo in every picture!  How funny would that be?!?

Great 80s Costume Ideas

While being Waldo would be hilarious, the thought of bringing crimped hair back is pretty enticing.  Not to mention, I’d love to see the look on my husbands face if I came home with crimped hair, off the shoulder shirt, and pegged pants. I was born in the 80s so I missed the horribly awkward high school 80s trends…poofy sleeved prom dresses, big hair, etc. However, I remember pegging my pants, MC Hammer pants, wearing two pairs of neon socks on each foot, banana clips and those t-shirt clips.  What do you remember from the 80s?  Most importantly, did you own a Hyper-Color shirt?  I wanted one of those so badly.  Apparently there is a company that still makes them.  While I think they are cool (and still want one), I have a feeling if I wore one I would be walking around with two giant hand prints on my boobs!

Must Have Items to Make the 80s Theme Amazing

You really need to get all the neon clothes possible. Not only that, but a hair crimper, neon eyeshadow, and a walkman (liked pictured above). If you were born in the 80s, show a walkman to your kids and ask them what it is! And, if you are like me, and want to think outside the box, think about all the iconic people from that time period. A few that come to mind are Hulk Hogan, Paula Abdul, Tom Cruise from Top Gun, Richard Simmons, etc. So many possibilities!

I would love a hypercolored shirt for my kids! I had no clue they still made them. I am thinking I will get them one for Christmas!!!
