How do single moms do it? My husband was out of town last week all week long, came home on Friday and left again Sunday night for this entire week. There are moments that I really feel like I am going to lose it. Like when my son just sat on the floor and cried and cried and cried but couldn’t tell me what was wrong. When I finally figured out that it was the fact that his hand hurt because he hit it on his toy, I felt like I was going to cry. The drama in this house is sky scraper high. I am totally in for it when these kids become teenagers. Not.looking.forward.to.those.years.
The only thing getting me through right now is the fact that at the end of the week we are all going to Chicago for my brother in-laws 30th birthday and my mother in-law and father in-law are taking the kids back to their hotel for a little party with them while Dan and I go to the bar with everyone else. I am going to be one drunk chick this weekend! (I will take pictures too…drunk pictures are always the best)!!
The worst part of this whole parenting on your own thing…the trip to the vet yesterday. $150 poorer, ten shades of red, two screaming kids, and one barking dog…I am sure they are glad to see us get out of there…all the while crossing their fingers that when I come back on Monday, I leave two kids home. It was seriously mortifying. And what made it worse, the hot vet took care of us. Though I have to say…not so hot anymore after being in a closed room with him. Nothing turns you off more than a man smelling like animal poo. I’m sure it goes with the territory of the job, but still. So.Not.Hot.

That would take the hot right out of someone.
I hope you have a great trip this weekend. You deserve it.

Single parents definitely deserve a lot of credit. I took my sons to a party by myself because I husband was working and I must have praised single parents at least 10 times in my head.

LOL…I’m laughing at the “not so hot” vet! Hope you have a great trip…you deserve it!

“$150 poorer, ten shades of red, two screaming kids, and one barking dog…” and a partrige in a pair tree…. lol I so know all too well how you feel. My hubs works *2* jobs and is *never* home! Most days I feel like a hooker! I’m a ‘single mom’ who gets money and then some…lol
I know it’s hard…but you’ll do great…we have to! 😉
