Dora the Explorer: Super Babies’ Dream Adventure REVIEW

Recently, I was given the opportunity to review the new Dora DVD. It was a no brainer, I was definitely doing this review; my daughter is absolutely IN LOVE with Dora. She literally almost gets whip lash when we are in a store and she sees something with Dora on it.

As soon as this package arrived and Bella opened it, the squeals that came out of her tiny body were probably heard throughout the neighborhood. We immediately put the movie in and she sat through the entire thing (all 95 minutes) and never moved a muscle.

The feature episode, “Super Babies’ Dream Adventure” starts out with Dora reading a super baby story to her twin brother and sister. In the story, the kids are unable to dream because the Dream Fairy needed to be woken up. Dora, along with Boots and her brother and sister, set out to wake up the Dream Fairy so happy dreams can be delivered.

I liked the fact that the movie started out with Dora reading to her brother and sister at naptime. I think reading is important and not only do we, as parents, show our kids the importance of reading by reading to them and allowing them to see us read, but it helps to have characters that our kids love so much, display a love for reading as well.

Dora the Explorer: Super Babies’ Dream Adventure also includes three other new to dvd episodes called:

  • “Dora Helps the Birthday Wizzle”
  • “Pirate Treasure Hunt”
  • “Benny’s Treasure”

Those of you that believe this DVD is a must have, you’re in luck! Dora the Explorer: Super Babies’ Dream Adventure hit stores nationwide on May 26, 2009. The retail price is $16.99.

Dora is sacred in our house lately. My 2yo opened the bathroom door on my yesterday and says “Abre Mommy.” Yeah, he watches too much tv.
