We go back to school in less than a month…which I am VERY happy about, but part of going back to school means homework after school. Homework is fine, but keeping kids on task to do the homework after sitting at school all day is not easy! My son is ADHD, which I’ve posted about before so he definitely has difficulty focusing on his homework after school when all he wants to do is run and play. All I need is to find things to keep him on task.
That’s where Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty comes in to play.

What is Thinking Putty?
Thinking Putty is a silicone based, moldable putty. Since it’s not clay or earth based, it will never dry out or crumble! That’s a huge plus because I don’t know about your kids, but mine ALWAYS forget to put the lid back on their clay or play-doh! Thinking Putty is 100% non-toxic so it is safe for people three years old and up.
Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty comes in a wide variety of options:
- Phantom: this line reacts with vibrant colors to UV light. Using the included black light keychain, kids can decorate the putty!
- Super Magnetics: you can stretch and mold this putty like any of the others, but in the presence of a magnetic field, it’s magnetic forces begin to align!
- Super Illusions: the colors are bright, fun and delightful! Sunlight make the colors explode!
- Liquid Glass: looks like glass or ice because this putty is completely clear!
- Heat Sensitive Hypercolors: sensitive to heat and cold, this putty changes simply by touching it!
- Glow in the Dark: looks milky white in the daylight, but glows in the darkness! Using the black light keychain, you can write messages on this putty!
- Putty Creatures: this putty comes with a unique texture and two eyes! Stretch and twist to make the perfect creature!
As you can see, I chose the Liquid Glass and one of the Super Illusions, Super Scarab. I think the Thinking Putty will be a great tool for my son while he’s doing homework. Sometimes just by keeping some part of him moving, he is able to focus better. Shoot, I found myself watching TV the other night, squeezing the Thinking Putty in my hands!
My favorite thing about Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty is the fact that not only is it made in the USA, but it is made by exceptional individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. They work as a team to develop vocational skills and economic self-sufficiency! How great is that?!?

Other Uses for the Thinking Putty
Besides letting your kids play with it or using it at a distracting tool to help keep your kids focused on a task (like homework), you can also use the Thinking Putty to strengthen your hand muscles. Here is an image of the different exercises you can do:
Prices start at $10 for the large tin…this makes a great gift!

This stuff is beyond awesome. The magnetic is my favorite for office play. However for fun play the hypercolor is the best. It just has the best texture. I had some in purple/pink. The magnetic is entertaining but isn’t putty enough to use in your hands.
