Right now, things are less than positive. I find myself staying away from my various social media channels because it seems like everyone is more angry and negative than anything else. I don’t like that. While I have my moments, I do prefer to try and find the positive in every situation. Be an eternal optimist, if I may. If I don’t do that, then everything around me seems negative and that is no way to live. When I look at my kids, I see two people who get such joy out of life and I don’t want that to ever change. In an effort to hold onto that for them, I have decided that each kid (and me too!) will start filling our own personal Happiness Jar.

What is a Happiness Jar?
Simply put…it’s a jar to store your happiness in! We all have little moments each day that stand out as the high point of the day. Rather than go to sleep and forget about it, take a second to write it down and put it in a jar. For the happiness jar that I will be making, I will be picking up these 1 gallon glass jar. If you are making more than one jar, you may want to check out this 4 pack deal. Or…my personal favorite, the old fashion cookie jar. Honestly though, whichever jar you get is fine. It’s what you put in that jar that matters.

When you print your free Happiness Jar printable, you will get the page you see here, plus a full page of journal boxes. You can print this as many times as you need it! Print out a bunch, have your kids cut them out (practice those cutting skills!), and start writing down your happy moments each day! I guarantee you, once you start focusing on the happy moments, you will start to see things differently. You will WANT to see the positives. When you have a bad day, which is bound to happen from time to time, reach into your happiness jar and pull out a memory and relive those happy moments all over again!
How you set up your happiness jar is entirely up to you! Have one big family happiness jar or do personal happiness jars for each person like we are! Start focusing on the happy moments!

This is such a cute idea. I have a friend who has one of these in her kitchen, it’s got quite a few papers in there.
