Do You Like Your Wedding Rings?

I absolutely LOVE my wedding rings.  When we got engaged, my husband bought me a very plain band with a solitaire diamond on it.  I loved it.  However, when we went to pick out our wedding rings, my husband told me that if I wanted, I could pick a two piece set…essentially giving me a “new” engagement ring.  I was insistent that I was not going to pick a new ring…low and behold, I fell in love with a set.  Luckily we knew the jeweler pretty well so he took my original engagement ring and put a cubic zirconia in it so I can save it.

Now my husbands band…it was gorgeous!  I say “was gorgeous” because we took it to the jeweler to be cleaned and re-dipped and they totally ruined it.  It looks nothing like it did when we bought it.  After mentioning it to the jeweler…they basically took an “it’s not our fault” approach.  Totally pissed me off.  So ever since then, I’ve been dreaming (and looking online) about buying my husband a new ring…a nice ring…one that can’t be ruined by a stupid jeweler.

One of the rings I’ve considered is a tungsten wedding band.  Did you know that tungsten bands are virtually indestructible????  For my husband, that is perfect.  He never takes his ring off so having something that you pretty much cannot destroy…excellent!  My absolute favorite are the black tungsten rings.

Next year is our 10 year anniversary.  My husband and I (well OK I have!) planned a trip to Vegas.  I’ve always wanted to go there, and of course, I want to do the whole “get married by Elvis” thing.  Maybe I will give him a new ring on our 10 year anniversary.  What do you think?  Would you get a new ring?  Have you heard of or do you have a tungsten ring?
