Walt Disney Signature Collection – Lady and the Tramp

When I was a kid, there were a few Disney movies that I watched over and over again. One of them was Lady and the Tramp. I had a Cocker Spaniel named Snickers that look very similar to Lady and, of course, I thought that was super cool! You will be excited to know that this movie has joined the Walt Disney Signature Collection!

*I received a copy of this movie for the purpose of this post. All opinions are 100% my own. This post may contain affiliate links*

Spicy Brussels Sprouts – Air Fryer Recipe

Brussels sprouts have always been that vegetable that I wanted to like, but I just couldn’t get past the smell. They just always seemed to smell like feet to me. Over the holidays, I had Brussels sprouts and they were delicious (and didn’t smell like feet). I started thinking about the different spices I could use to make them myself. While honey and balsamic vinegar make them delicious, they aren’t really on my Keto diet. However, this spicy Brussels sprouts recipe is totally on my diet!

When I originally made this, I did not cut them in half. While they were still very good, the spicy Brussels sprouts would be even better if you cut them in half. This way the yummy, spicy Brussels sprouts get even more of the spicy seasoning all over them! These Brussels sprouts are delicious! Even my daughter tried them!

If you don’t have an air fryer, get one! This has become my favorite appliance! Everything we’ve put in this air fryer has come out delicious! I cannot wait to make a steak in it!

Banana Muffins with Chocolate and Peanut Butter

One thing my kids really like are muffins. It really doesn’t matter what kind of muffins either. Although, they are rather partial to banana muffins. Can you blame them? There are very few things better than bananas, chocolate or peanut butter. Add all of those things together and you have epic banana muffins with chocolate and peanut butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter, softened
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2-3 Ripe Bananas, mashed (about 1 cup or so)
  • 2/3 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1 TBSP Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Cups Gluten Free Flour (Try thisbanana muffins)
  • 1 TBSP Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Cream your butter and sugar together until completely incorporated. Next add your eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg you add.
  3. Beat in the bananas, peanut butter, milk and vanilla.
  4. Combine all of your dry ingredients and add it to your wet ingredients little by little. Mix the two together with a large spoon or spatula.
  5. Put your banana muffins batter in the fridge for one hour.
  6. Fill your muffin liners all the way to the top with your batter.
  7. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Lower your oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes. Check it at the 10 minute mark with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, pull them out. If not, leave them in for an additional 1-2 minutes. Mine took the additional 2 minutes.
  8. Allow the banana muffins to cool in the muffin tin for about 3-4 minutes. Then take them out and put them on a wire rack. They will be hot!

So…you’re probably wondering why the two temperatures for the banana muffins. I had read that if you wanted to get that nice domed look that professional bakers get with their muffins and cupcakes, you need to do that with the baking. Normally mine will have that domed look, more so than what they have here, but I accidentally used baking powder instead of baking soda. While they taste pretty much how they should…I don’t think they look like they normally do!

How did they taste?

AMAZING! Both kids devoured one very quickly. Technically I am the only one in the house that has to eat gluten free, but my kids prefer the baked goods I make with gluten free flour better than anything else. They are a tad more dense than non-gluten free baked goods, but they are delicious! However, if you don’t eat gluten free, no worries! Simply make this with regular flour!

Also, another FYI tip for you…if you accidentally use baking powder instead of baking soda and realize it before you put the item in the oven, I have a fix for you. After lots of googling, I read that you can use 3 times the amount of baking powder in place of baking soda. Is it a perfect fix? Probably not as good as using baking soda, but it worked just fine!

Irritated Eyes Need Cliradex Light

Over the last 25 years, I have almost exclusively worn contacts. I’ve been lucky in that I can count on one hand how many eye infections I’ve had. It’s always impressed my eye doctor that I’ve had so few infections. However, the one thing that I have been noticing lately is how itchy and dry my eyes seem to be. Rubbing our irritated eyes is usually the first thing we do. Unfortunately, that leaves us with red eyes that seem to itch all the more. Adding Cliradex Light to your daily eye health routine can really help alleviate the irritated eyes you’re experiencing.

*This is a partnered post

What is Cliradex Light?

Cliradex Light is a 100 percent natural, 100 percent organic, 100 percent vegan foam that contains a 4-Terpineol (T40) formula that has been extracted from tea tree oil. This foam is alcohol, fragrance, and preservative free and contains no parabens or sulfates. So you get maximum benefits without any damage to your skin. This is particularly important, as our eyelids and the skin surrounding them can be rather sensitive. Using Cliradex Light daily is great preventative care for your ocular heath.

Find Relief From These Irritated Eyes Issues

It is recommended that you use Cliradex Light twice a day. Applying the Cliradex Light foam to your eyelids and surrounding skin can help the following issues:

  • Swollen or red eyelids
  • Mild ocular pain or irritation
  • Occasional crusty eyelids
  • Dry or itchy eyes

The T40 found in Cliradex Light does not cause irritation and is a non-toxic/non-sensitizing component of tea tree oil.

My Thoughts on Cliradex Light

I was sent a bottle of Cliradex Light to try out. Initially I was a little skeptical. Like I said, I’ve worn contacts for over 25 years with very few issues. Aside from dealing with occasional dry or itchy eyes. I didn’t really see a need for something like this. Boy was I wrong!

After using the product for a week, I began noticing that my eyes weren’t as dry as they normally were by the end of the day. The biggest change I noticed was how my eyes were when i woke up in the morning. I didn’t know I was waking up with crusty eyes, but once I started using the Cliradex Light foam daily, I realized that I wasn’t waking up with crusty eyes! Adding this foam to my daily routine has been really easy. I simply take my shower as normal. With a clean face and hands, I put a very small amount of the foam on my fingers (trust me, you only need a tiny bit; the foam expands) and rub it on my closed eyelids until it is fully absorbed. It really doesn’t get easier than that!

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to eye health, I want the best products available. We only have one set of eyes! Adding this product to my daily routine has really helped me. Give it a try and see if it can help alleviate some of your irritated eyes symptoms.

How to Set Up the Our Pact Premium App

Do your kids have cell phones? When my kids were younger, I said that my kids wouldn’t get cell phones until they were driving. That changed! Getting them phones earlier has actually been a benefit. There are times I need to be in two places at once, which means one child gets dropped off somewhere earlier. Having that phone makes me feel better. Besides that, having a phone gives me something I can take away. It’s all about finding what’s meaningful with punishments, right?!? However, taking away the phone defeats the purpose of why I initially got it for them. That’s were the Our Pact Premium app comes in.

What is Our Pact Premium?

A lot of parents joke that they give their kids electronics like phones or an iPad so they have something to take away. As parents, we know we have to discipline our kids and take things away. In order for it to be effective, it has to mean something to them. Taking away the phone leaves kids without the very reason you gave it to them. So they can contact you if need be. Our Pact Premium is an app for both iOS and Android that allows you to manage exactly what they do on their phone and when. It’s a parenting game changer. Goodbye are the days when you collect the phone and take it away for X amount of days. Just turn off what you don’t want them using (games, YouTube, etc) and hand the phone back to them.

Installing the App

It is very important that you read this section. I do not want another person to have the trouble I had installing this app and setting it up. At 9 pm I started setting it up and at 3 am, I was still trying to set it up. Nothing was working right. The directions on their site are a little vague and the step by step directions tech support emailed me didn’t work either. I finally gave up and went to bed and figured I would try again in the morning. When I woke up this morning, I had an idea as to why it wasn’t working and decided to try a different way. It worked! Had two phones set up in less than 25 minutes.

First things first…if you are planning on going with the Premium plan, set that up FIRST. Trust me. Once you have the Premium plan paid for, you will be prompted to download the Our Pact Utility onto your computer. Once that is downloaded onto your computer, do the following:

  1. Plug your phone iPhone into your computer.
  2. Run the Our Pact Utility program and follow the directions on the screen.
  3. Follow the prompts on your iPhone. When it asks you about allowing configuration, click “skip configuration”.
  4. Pair your phone by going to pair.ourpact.com.
  5. Log into the parent app and start setting up the schedules and blocks.

So why didn’t it work before?

When I initially tried setting up the app, I didn’t purchase the premium plan at first. By not doing that, I set up the free account. With the free account you do not need to use the Our Pact Utility program. Should be easy to upgrade from the free to the paid accounts, right? Wrong. In order to set up the paid account, you have to fully remove the free account. That’s easy enough. However, you cannot use the same name for the paid account that you used on the free account. So be sure which account you want from the beginning. I will say, in my opinion, this app is not worth it unless you pay for the premium plan.

Our Pact Premium App Features

You will know you have your account set up with the premium features when you see “access granted” and you can start blocking apps.

our pact premium

Next you will want to decide which apps you will always allow, which apps you would like to block for now and which apps you would like set up according to a schedule (more about that later). The nice thing is, if you decided to block an app, it disappears from your child’s screen. When you unblock it, it reappears.

our pact premium

Once you’ve decided on what to do with the various apps, you will want to set the schedules. On my kids phones, I have all the apps that I do not want them having access to during the night set to disappear at 8:15 pm and stay gone until 6 am (Monday through Friday). Since I would like them to not wake up at the crack of dawn just to watch YouTube, I also set a schedule for Saturday and Sunday.

our pact premium

Another really great feature is the ability to limit how much time your kids will be on their phone and iPad. You can set a daily allowance for them. When their time is up, they are done! I know when my kids were much younger, I was very strict about electronics during the school week. By setting daily allowances, your kids and their device self monitors and you don’t have to sit and watch the clock!

our pact premium

As if this app was already great enough, this next feature allows you to completely block adult content. I don’t know exactly what constitutes as “adult content” (besides the obvious), but I like that there is that extra little feature to help keep that stuff away from the kids. We have the settings on their iPhone to block it too, but as you’re probably aware, things can slip through.

Tonight we were at Sam’s Club picking up a few items and when we got in the car, Bella said “hey, where did all my apps go?”. So the bedtime schedule worked exactly the way it was supposed to! Besides the issues I had setting the app up with my sons phone, I am very happy with the Our Pact Premium app.

Have you used the Our Pact app?
