Diaries of a Domestic Goddess

Today I spent seven (yes 7) hours scrapbooking at Archivers. I signed up for their scrap mania event and since they had nothing else going on in their rooms, they allow people that are signed up for the scrap mania to come whenever they like, so I got there a little early.

I think this was the best 7 hours I have spent in a long time…minus this annoying woman who constantly was telling her friends what to do. She might as well have done their pages for them because the things they thought to do for their page was not up to her standards. “It would look much nice if you did this…”. I am so glad that I go to these by myself. I wouldn’t get much done if I went with a friend since we would gab the whole time, but it would drive me nuts to have what I am doing criticized all the time. Although she is a Creative Memories consultant and Creative Memories is the shiznit of the scrapbooking world…or to use her words, “well you know, I am a Creative Memories consultant and I have been doing this much longer than you both…”.

Yep. If she were my friend, she would have gotten punched in the head by now. Not that I am violent with my friends or anything…but this one…she would have been punched. And then I would lose her number.

As for my scrapbooking, I got a lot done. I worked on my album that is everything to do about us…early dating, wedding, first house…basically everything pre-kids. It was fun to look at the pictures from our past and remember a lot of good times together. Though it did piss me off to remember that ALL of my honeymoon pictures were lost when the computer they were on broke.

If you have an Archivers near you, definitely check them out if you are in to scrapbooking. If you don’t have an Archivers, check your local scrapbooking store…most of them offer the scrap nights. Totally worth the money to go. It cost me $15.o0 and I got dinner (pizza and salad), snacks and pop throughout the night, and an entire scrap kit to make one Valentine’s day page.

Oh I wish I could’ve been there. I could’ve made the annoying lady’s head explode. I’m a digital scrapper, and that’s what usually happens when you tell those types that you scrap digital and then show them some pages. (insert evil maniacal laughter) Sometimes I miss paper scrapping, but it’s so much nicer to just hit “save” and walk away when the kids need something rather than have to clean it all up at the end of nap time since I don’t have my own craft space.

Apparently Creative Memories has a digital thing now and when the host at Archivers said that she thought digital scrapbooking is neat (though she also said she is computer illiterate lol) the lady looked irriated.

I have nothing against Creative Memories…I have a few things from them. It was how she was throwing around the name and the way she acted that bugged me.

I hear ya on the clean up part.
