One thing, besides my husband and kids, that I absolutely love and sometimes feel like I can’t live without, is Diet Coke or Pepsi.  It’s gotten to the point where I don’t even keep it in the house because I drink way too much of it.  And believe me…having to go to the gas station or drug store to get a bottle is a royal in in the you-know-what.

A friend of mine told me about this nifty machine that you can have in your home to make your very own pop.  I wasn’t sold on the idea until I was at the store and got to see it in person…and taste the various flavors.  After one taste I knew I had to have it!  Not only did it taste good, but I could see dollar signs in my head.  This machine would save me a ton of money!

The awesome machine I speak of is the SodaStream.  You take regular tap water, carbonate it, add your favorite flavor, and you have a liter of pop ready to drink!!  Doesn’t it sound great?!?  So how does it exactly work?

Upon removing your SodaStream from the box, you remove the back cover, screw in the carbonator, put the back cover back on and you’re ready to go!

Next you fill the reusable liter bottle with tap water to the fill line and place it in the front of the SodaStream machine.  Now here’s the really neat part!!  The SodaStream does not require ANY electricity or batteries to operate!  Simply press the button on top of the machine to carbonate your water to your liking!  Once carbonated, add your desired flavor, tilt the bottle from side to side a few times to mix and you have pop!

As you can see, I was very excited to get my SodaStream in the mail.  Here is a picture of my machine and ALL the great flavors I received:

I haven’t had a chance to try all the flavors yet, but the ones I have tried (Cola Free and Diet Orange) have been absolutely delicious and taste very similar (if not better) than the name brands I was purchasing daily.  An interesting little tidbit…SodaStream Cola (comparable to Coke or Pepsi) has only 9 carbs per serving.  That is significantly less than the carb count in Coke or Pepsi.  For me, being diabetic, this is great!  So long as I plan my meals accordingly, I can enjoy the regular flavor of cola without affecting my health!

We used the SodaStream at my son’s 7th birthday party.  We invited immediate family over and tried several of the flavors.  Overall, the response was very good!  Everyone liked the fact that we could all have whichever flavor pop we wanted without having to worry about the pop going flat because we couldn’t drink it fast enough.  In the past I have purchased 2 liters of pop and they would get half finished and I would have to dump the rest because it would go flat.  With my SodaStream machine, I don’t have to worry about the pop going fast.  When I’m only making a liter at a time, it goes pretty quickly!

Take a look at the flavors that SodaStream has to offer.  Which one would you like to try most?  I am very anxious to try the Diet Cranberry Raspberry.

Thank you to SodaStream for providing me with everything you see in the picture above.  All opinions stated in this review are solely mine.  You may have a differing opinion.

Yes. There are flavors with caffeine, flavors without caffeine, etc. 🙂
