Lousy Cook? Not a Problem!

When my husband and I got married, to say I was a horrible cook was an understatement.  I burned RAW chicken.  No joke.  It was very blackened chicken that when you cut into it, it was raw inside.  For years, my mother in-law would buy me cookbooks for Christmas or my birthday, probably in hopes that her son didn’t end up malnourished!  But it didn’t matter.  Everything I cooked or baked would be ruined.  And then one day it just clicked.  I wouldn’t say I’m an amazing chef or anything, but at least I can cook a wide variety of foods and bake a bunch of things without ruining it and having to start over…though there was the time a couple years ago when I boiled brownies in the oven…how is that even possible?!?

Little did I know that Prepare Wise offered the perfect solution for me and my soon to be malnourished husband…freeze dried food that has a shelf life of 25 years!  Now yes…this food is technically meant to be stored for emergency purposes, but let’s face it…what I was doing to my husband the first few years we were married WAS an emergency!

After looking around PrepareWise.com, I can think of many examples of where this food would come in handy.  I was just reminiscing about the Great Power Outage of 2003 that was caused by Niagara Falls.  My husband and I had to throw away all of our food because of that outage.  We also survived on things like peanut butter sandwiches and dry cereal.  With freeze dried food from Prepare Wise and a little water, we could have eaten like Royalty! Besides a power outage, people who live in areas that tend to get snowed in would benefit greatly from having this in their stockpile.  The Prepare Wise chicken comes in a 120 serving bucket.  If you were snowed in, you wouldn’t have to worry at all about whether or not you could make it to the store or not.  Simply add a little water and you have chicken!

Have you ever purchased from Prepare Wise or a company like them?  What did you think?  Also, where do you store your emergency food?
