Plymouth Canton School Board Meeting and Bullying

Well ladies and gentleman…I did it!  I wrote a speech and I spoke at the Plymouth Canton School Board meeting last night about bullying.  Let  me tell you, I was a nervous wreck.  I seriously thought I was going to pass out.  There were a large amount of people there and I am NOT a public speaker at all.  It was my worst class I ever took in college.  But with all that said, when you give me something that I am VERY passionate about, I can do just about anything!

I wholeheartedly believe that our school district must adopt a plan to deal with bullying and the behaviors that lead up to bullying.  Different schools in the district are doing their own thing and while it may work for some, on the whole, it’s not working at all.  Mainly because the powers that be are not making it mandatory and while you would think discipline would be a mandatory thing…that’s not the case.  Especially when a talking to is all kids seem to be getting and let’s face it, if the behavior keeps happening after the talk, then the talks aren’t working!

So like I said…I spoke out at the meeting (in front of A LOT of people) and YOU can see the video by clicking HERE!  I start around the 10 minute and 30 or 40 second mark.

What do you think?  Be sure to leave me a comment with your thoughts on this!  Thank you

I am NOT letting this one go.  PCCS needs to know that I am dead serious.  They need to have a system in place to deal with bullying and behaviors that can and do lead up to bullying and that system needs to start at the elementary level.
