Bella gets really excited when the doorbell rings and there is a package at the front door. Each time, without fail, she says:
“Ooooh! What did your blog get now?”
When she opened this box, her eyes lit up and she started jumping up and down, cheering about Polly Pockets! Right away she begged me to take my pictures (she knows the drill!) so she could start playing!
The first thing we did, as we were opening the package, was put the DVD in. It was cute. We don’t tend to watch many girly things. Bella idolizes her brother and will do everything he says. So that means we watch lots of Power Rangers and shows like that. So to see her sit down and watch something girly was great! I asked her after what her favorite part was and her response:
“Mama…the whole thing! I just loved it all!”
As for the play set, this is her new favorite toy! In fact, she has already marked it down on her Christmas list that she wants the Polly Pocket airplane! From a parent’s standpoint, I really like these toys. They spark a tremendous amount of creativity from children. The elaborate stories Bella had going on was great! And I have to say, I like these a lot more than Barbie’s! I’d rather Bella pretend she’s at a pet shop than making Ken and Barbie kiss all the time! A couple things I didn’t care for are:
- I wish this set of Polly Pockets had the suction cups on the bottom of everything like the first set we reviewed.
- I get that the pieces are small…but I wish the shoes were glued to the feet!
All in all, I am a HUGE fan of Polly Pockets and know that there will be several sets under the Christmas Tree for Bella this Christmas! I also like that they are easy to take along with us. My kids LOVE to take things to restaurants with them. The nice thing about Polly Pockets is that you can put a couple pieces in a ziplock bag (just don’t take a ton of the little pieces or you’ll pull your hair out at the restaurant…that or sit at a table where it’s easier to pick things up from the floor…booths are the black hole for Polly Pockets!) and take it with you!
