I don’t feel like my kids are spoiled, but they are definitely better off than some kids their age. This year I was talking to my husband that I would like to find some way to give back. If I could find a soup kitchen that I could take my kids to so we could help out kids in need, I would. But I don’t know of any, other than downtown Detroit and I’m not all that comfortable taking them down there since I don’t know the area very well and I don’t know if my husband would be with us.

*I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting. All opinions are my own. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Besides wanting to teach my kids to give back by donating time at a soup kitchen, I feel it is important for my kids to learn that when you want something in life, you have to work for it. When I found out about CWIST I knew I had to try it!

What is CWIST?

CWIST is a new incentive-based digital platform where parents and educators can share ideas, motivate kids to learn and teach valuable life lessons. With CWIST, parents assign a learning challenge (“a cwist”) that the child will love doing because it’s interactive and fun.

There are two types of CWISTs:  Ready-made challenges can be drawn from an online library of age-appropriate educational online games, such as math challenges. Or parents can create their own challenge for their kids to complete.

cwist12I like this idea. Let’s face it, our kids live in a very tech-centered world. Let’s grab their attention where we can!

Helping Kids in Need

But this is the part that I REALLY liked about CWIST! The Kids CWIST for Kids charitable initiative connects a parent and their kids to kids in need! So how does this work?

We will be using CWIST  with our kids this year!  It’s an easy platform to use and it allows our kids to earn all kinds of different things from screen time, going to a movie, getting ice cream, or playing a game with mom or dad. Of course, we can always add other things on there, like a toy or an app that they want, but they have to earn it. That is what I like most about this site!

You can sign up for CWIST for free right now!!
