My husband and I decided that we are not buying our kids (10 and 8) a bunch of toys this Christmas. They hardly play with the toys that they do have. So we told them that they needed to start making their Christmas list and we would like to see things they can do, make or wear. Hopefully we stick to our plan!

I don’t know about your kids, but mine have ALWAYS loved airplanes. My parents used to go to Mackinaw Island a lot when they would come back, they always had an airplane for my son. Those airplanes eventually a love for making paper airplanes, which my two used a ream of computer paper to make hundreds of paper airplanes that they were planning on selling in front of our house, much like kids sell lemonade on a hot summer day! When I saw the Guillow Stunt Flyer, I knew it was something my son would love!

When you purchase the Guillow Stunt Flyer model plane, everything you need (except for the glue and wire cutters) is in that box pictured above.

About the Stunt Flyer

The 4505 Stunt Flyer is fashioned after aerobatic aircrafts that are designed to be as close to ideal for aerobatics as possible, focusing on maneuverability, allowing them to do fantastic stunts. The kit contains laser cut balsa parts, plastic propeller & wheels, detailed stick on wing covering and rubber band motors. The wing span measures 11″ and it takes less than 2 hours to build!

First mistake we made, popping the pieces out before figuring out (and labeling) what is what. Second mistake we made was breaking a piece of the wood. Thankfully it can be glued and fixed! Overall, this was a fun project. I do think it would have been better if I left it for my husband and son to take care of, but it was fun, nonetheless!

This kit retails for $12.19 and is perfect for ages 13+, though my 10 year did like doing it.

What are some of the things your kids are asking for this year?
