Real Life Paleo and My New Lifestyle Plan

A couple years ago, I learned about the Paleo diet. My husband and I gave it a try and I really liked it. I couldn’t believe how much better I felt everyday, especially after eating a meal. Bloating after dinner was a thing of the past. One of my favorite recipes I used to make ALL of the time was Cauliflower Rice.

Doesn’t it look good?!? Following the Paleo Diet was great, however it didn’t last for me. I got lazy and started eating whatever I wanted and feeling bloated after each meal. I tried getting serious and doing Weight Watchers with my husband, but lets face it, I can’t stand logging my food on my phone.

The Real Life Paleo Book

The other day, my friend Summer from The Dirty Floor Diaries, was talking about a new book called Real Life Paleo. This book is full of recipes that are easy to make for things that you need daily like ketchup, for example.

The number one thing I like about this book over ANY other book I’ve ever read on various diet plans is that this book makes lists. It not only tells you what foods to buy. However, one list in particular, shows you what to replace “bad” foods with. Real Life Paleo gives you options. My other favorite part about this book is that it gives me a list of things to buy at stores near me like Trader Joes or Costco. Those are the things I need to be successful!

I just got this book this past weekend, but I’m telling you, just two days following along and I feel GREAT. It really is a lifestyle plan that you notice results immediately. And for me, I need to see immediate results or I give up and take, what I consider, the easy route…but I don’t want the easy route anymore. I want good food for me, my body and my family.

Have you tried the Paleo Diet before?

I really want to try paleo. I do have times when I get really bloated after eating because of what is in my diet. I have a paleo diet to follow, but I haven’t started yet. I am definitely going to follow it.

I have to pick this one up. We aren’t Paleo but we are gluten free so the more recipes the better.

Sounds like a great book! I like that it shows you what you might eat and shows you a better option. That is something I would refer back to alll the time!

The lists sound like a great idea for my husband and me too. We have seriously considered Whole 30, but it seems so overwhelming to change your lifestyle all at once. I will check out this book!

I haven’t tried Paleo yet, but a ton of people I know have adapted their diet to it. I would love to check out some recipes from this book & see what would suit my family.

I have not tried the Paleo diet. As much as I want to, I don’t think I would follow it the way I’m supposed to.

You know what helps me…I give myself a cheat day once a week. Then I find it easier to stick to something.

I have not tried Paleo. I have to try to stay gluten free, and count carbs for diabetes, and my husband does not want to use artificial sweeteners, so it is hard to find things we can eat.

I think this diet or a modified form of this diet would really work well for you guys then! You are eating real food, so no artificial anything!

I’ve never tried this type of food lifestyle, but I’ve seen a lot of coverage online. This books sounds like a great resource.

I’ve been doing low carb and I feel like it’s almost Paleo. I feel so much better after cutting out sugar, bread, etc!

That cauliflower rice looks really good! Iv’e not gotten as creative with cauliflower as I know you can, and I think that would help when it comes to lowering our carbs around here!

I can be the same way when it comes to a diet and not stick with it. Which is the reason why try super hard to eat healthy each and every day. I have found what works best for me is staying away from red meat and limiting my bread (carbs). I stick with fish (seafood), chicken and turkey . I add a side salad and some veggies and I feel great.
