The holidays look a little different this year. Normally we are with my husbands family and there is a whole bunch of us. 70+ to be exact. However, with Covid, and new restrictions in Michigan limiting the size of indoor gatherings, we will be spending Thanksgiving at home. Just the four of us. While I will miss my mother in-laws food, I actually don’t mind cooking dinner. Since my husband and I are on the Keto diet, we will be having a Low Carb Thanksgiving menu (with a few non-Keto friendly foods for the kids).

Low Carb Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday. I love turkey and all the traditional foods. When we decided to go back to the Keto diet, part of me was a little bummed to not eat all the traditional holiday foods. But only a small part of me. The other part of me knew there was no way I was going to cheat because it’s never worth it. With all the delicious recipes out there, having a low carb Thanksgiving is pretty easy. Especially with the low carb, keto friendly, cheesecake I will be sharing shortly! It’s to die for. Seriously.

Turkey Recipes

I used to be pretty intimidated when it came to making a turkey, until I just made it. My favorite way to make it is on the BBQ, beer can turkey style. Soooo good! However, we no longer have a BBQ, so in the roaster it goes! Which, if you don’t have a roaster, they are fairly inexpensive and it was the BEST money I ever spent. It allows me to completely keep my oven free! This is the one I have.

Keto Friendly Side Dishes

While I love turkey, the side dishes are where it’s at for me! I will be making some non-keto/low carb sides for the kids (mashed potatoes, corn, etc). However, I have scoured the internet for some Keto/low carb side dishes that look absolutely amazing!

Must Try Desserts!

Normally I don’t care if we have dessert, but it’s Thanksgiving! I totally plan on making this absolutely amazing Keto cheesecake. It is probably the best cheesecake I’ve ever had.

My Thanksgiving Plan

Normally I use My Fitness Pal to track my macros. I try to be pretty strict. That works best for me. However, for Thanksgiving, I plan to enjoy the day by eating Keto approved foods, but I won’t be tracking. For me, I find that I tend to stay pretty close to my macros anyway!

What do you think about this low carb Thanksgiving menu? Is there something else you are looking for? Let me know! I’d be happy to help you find it!
