Best Waiter…EVER

Anyone watch “Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood“? It’s like my all time, can’t miss (besides Days of Our Lives) show. Tori Spelling is someone that I could totally be best friends with in real life and I think Dan and Dean would be pretty good friends as well. I’ve liked her ever since “90210” back in the day. She was always my favorite; “Donna Martin graduates”!

So anyhoo, I’m going off on a tangent here, if you watch the show, you will know what this means. I want a Guncle. It Tori speak, that’s a gay uncle. You see, on Tuesday’s episode Dean was sick and was unable to go with her to an event. Tori, being insecure like you would never expect someone as famous as her being, was sick to her stomach at the thought of going alone. Well you guessed it…she wasn’t alone. Her two friends showed up to escort her to the event. She calls them “the Guncles”…her kids gay uncles.

This leads me up to my title “Best Waiter…EVER”. Last night we took the kids to Coney Island for dinner. Our server was gay…made no attempt to hide it, not that he should at all. He was, by far, the best server we have ever had. His personality was absolutely hilarious. This could be one of those “had to be there” moments, but I ordered lemon rice soup. If you have Coney Islands by you, lemon rice soup is like a staple in the restaurant. I heard our server tell the kitchen staff that he needed more lemon rice soup. Next thing you know, he comes back to our table with a look of utter disgust on his face and says “you know how some people have no ambition in life?” We say yes and he says “some of them work here. So apparently we are out of lemon rice soup and it will take awhile for some more to be made”. I ask how long, totally wiling to eat it at the end of my meal instead of the beginning when our server says “tomorrowish”.

Now mind you, just reading that is probably not that funny, but imagine it being said with more flair and dramatics. It was hilarious! I ordered the chef salad and he asks me if I want regular greek dressing or some other greek dressing. I asked him about the other and he says, as he’s leaning way over our table so he can whisper for us to hear “well my manager is kind of cheap so we aren’t really supposed to advertise this dressing but people who are familiar with greek dressings, is aware of this really good and really expensive dressing. So if you have expensive taste, I recommend the dressing that shall not be named”. Needless to say, we got that dressing and it was very good! I wish I could remember the name to tell you all so you can ask for it. I don’t know, it might come to me.

I don’t know what this guy plans to do with the rest of his life, but I have no doubt that whatever he does, he will be 100% successful at it. His personable personality will take him a long way. We will definitely go back to this Coney Island and if he is there, we will request his section. He was that good.

And some lucky kid will have him as their Guncle some day!!!

P.S. Don’t forget to enter my Tyson’s contest here!!
