My husband and I decided to expand our family by one more member. Yesterday we adopted a Coonhound mix puppy. She is 7 months old and is the cutest, most sweet puppy ever (after our golden Zoe that is!).

We went to the humane society with the kids and after looking around it became apparent that the coonhound was the puppy we just had to see. My husband went home and got Zoe. It was important for us to do a dog to dog meeting to make sure that the two would be a good match. They got along great…well just like two little puppies!

The kids were pretty adamant on her name…so without further ado, I would like to introduce you to Ruby!!!

Today was her first full day in our house and if every day is just HALF as good as today was, I’ll be in heaven! Today was the first day in AGES that I have not had to yell at anyone! The dogs played together, slept together, etc. The kids played together, never once yelling about Zoe taking their toys, etc. It was amazing. Sure it could have been a fluke of a day, but shoot…like I said even if tomorrow is just half as good as today…it will be a damn good day!

I’ve always grown up in a house with two dogs. So yea, to some it may be like one of those “are you crazy????” things, but I’m not too concerned about it. We are one big happy family! I wish I could get a picture of the two dogs together, but when they are not chasing each other all over the yard, they are sleeping on their separate beds. I wish my kids knew when to leave each other alone like these two dogs do!

Aaawww I love that name!!! She is beautiful. As much work as our new puppy is, I almost wish I had taken 2 of them (there were 7 in his litter). He needs a playmate……the cat just isnt getting into it!
