This year I decided that I was going to host my very first Thanksgiving at my house! This year it was with my family. So I called my mom up in July and told her that I wanted to have Thanksgiving. At first I thought she would say no…I mean, she’s always had Thanksgiving at her house. But much to my surprise, she was all for us hosting this year! I’m sure it was because we had GRAND plans of serving our guests Beer Butt Turkey!
Almost immediately I started to plan out my menu. The one thing I did not want to do is have WAY too many appetizers that people wouldn’t want to eat the food I had worked so hard to prepare. That’s where Hickory Farms came in! I knew having a platter of various cheeses, summer sausage and crackers, along with a super yummy trail mix, it would be the appropriate amount of food to tide people over until the main course was ready. And boy was it! I think within minutes of putting the platter down, it was devoured!
