Have you Been Sicker this Winter?

I don’t know about you, but this has been the worst winter of my entire life.  I have never been this sick…ever.  It all started in November right after Thanksgiving.  Both my husband and I woke up the Saturday after Thanksgiving puking our guts out.  Thankfully we were able to have our kids stay at my parents house because this stomach flu lasted for FIVE days.  Five miserable days.  Before I was even over the stomach flu, I was exposed to strep.  As if that wasn’t bad enough…I was exposed to strep AGAIN so I ended up having it twice in December.  All in all, from the end of November to the end of February I had:

  • The stomach flu
  • 5…yes five…cases of strep.

I don’t even want to tell you how much money we spent in that time for doctor co-pays to be tested for strep, doctor co-pays to make sure the strep went away and all the antibiotics we needed.  It was A LOT of money.  BUT…knock on wood…I’ve been strep free for the longest amount of time since getting sick!

Now, while I’ve been strep free, I did get some sort of cough and head congestion a couple weeks ago.  Nothing I took helped.  Until a nice rep I work with sent me some Robitussin products.  I took the  Robitussin Cold + Flu Daytime and it was the ONLY thing that stopped me from coughing up a lung.  Seriously!  The best part, they are capsules so no nasty tasting syrup to swallow!  <–I don’t do well with cough syrup!

If you haven’t checked out the Robitussin website lately…you should!  They have a neat little feature where you put in your city, state or zip and they will use their Coughcast to tell you the cough level in your area!  I checked my area and we are at a moderate level…how about you, what is your area’s cough level?
