For my Florida readers, Scotts Florida Select Natural Eucalyptus Mulch is the mulch for you!

The Scotts Florida Select Natural Eucalyptus Mulch is made from 100% Florida grown eucalyptus.  This is by far the best option for your sustainable gardening because:

  1. Sustainable:  it regrows up to 4 times faster than cyprus.
  2. Natural:  is guaranteed free from any construction, demolition, pallet or other waste materials.
  3. Effective:  Prevents weeds naturally, all while conserving soil moisture and moderate soil temperature.
  4. Local:  100% Florida grown.

This mulch is very simple to use!  Follow the tips below and you will have a beautiful yard this spring and summer!

  • Make sure you spread the mulch 3 inches deep and keep it a few inches from tree trunks and house foundations.
  • Apply after seeds have germinated and plants have developed.
  • Do not apply until seeds have germinated or plants have developed.

I was just talking to my husband about what we need to do to our yard to get it into shape and looking good.  Some of the gardening supplies we need to get our yard in order are:

  • Rent a thatcher
  • Pick up all the broken tree limbs in the backyard
  • Weed killer
  • Plants and bushes for the backyard
  • Scotts Nature Scapes mulch

You see, our front yard landscaping is in dire need of some work.  Weeds need to be pulled and plants need to be moved around (or just removed).  We also have a tree that grows along side our house that needs to be removed.  But, with as busy as we’ve been, we haven’t been able to do much with the yard at this house.  However, we did some major yard make-overs at our first house and I just love how it turned out!

Our first house was cute, but needed a lot of work on the outside.  I hated the fact that you walked up to the house on the side of the porch, so we fixed that!

Doesn’t it look like a totally different house?  We could be on that show, Curb Appeal!  There are so many things I like about this landscaping from the double-decker landscaping, to the twisty bushes.  But…my favorite part is:

I loved sitting in the front room and watching birds in the bird bath!  Did you know that you have to flip those things over in the winter?  The birds will literally splash in the in the winter.  We are in Michigan people!  You can’t do things like that!

Since I am in Michigan, you can use great products like Scotts Nature Scapes in Advanced Classic Black:

If black colored mulch is not your thing, try Scotts Nature Scapes in Advanced Sierra Red:

And finally, if red is not your color (which it’s not my favorite), you can try the Scotts Nature Scapes in Advanced Deep Forest:

Scotts mulch helps to maintain moisture, prevent weeds and create a groomed landscape all year long! I personally love the “prevents weeds” part!

What are you looking to do with your yard this year?

We are in desperate need of seeding our front yard. We were in such a bad drought last year and had watering restrictions so it was impossible to keep the grass alive. It’s sad now. The only reason it’s somewhat green is because the rain watered the weeds.
