You know what’s funny to me…the things kids will eat versus the things they won’t eat.  If you ask my son what his favorite food in the world is, he will tell you that it’s calamari.  In fact, he asks for it at every restaurant we go to.  My daughter loves two things…sloppy joes and chili dogs.  She can’t decide between the two.

Now calamari is definitely something I will only order in a restaurant, but chili dogs and sloppy joes are definitely something I can make at home.  I like to make my own sloppy joe mix because I can add (OK…hide) things to it that a canned mix doesn’t have in it.  Ragú® has a super quick and super easy sloppy joe recipe that you need to try (psst…click on Ragú® and you can print a $1 off coupon!).

 Ragú® Sloppy Joes Recipe

sloppy joes recipe

Ingredients

  • 2lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (optional)
  • 1 jar (1 lb 8oz) Ragú® Old World Style® Pasta Sauce
  • 8 whole wheat hamburger buns or regular hamburger buns

Directions

  1. Brown ground beef with onion in a large nonstick skillet; drain.
  2. Stir in Ragú® Old World Style® pasta sauce.  Bring to a boil over high heat.  Reduce heat to medium and simmer covered, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.  Server on buns.

This is SUPER fast and SUPER easy!  I’d probably also add red or green peppers with the onions.
